  • In 1961, JFK authorized berets for use exclusively by the U.S. Special Forces. Preparing for an 12 Oct. visit to the Special Warfare Center at Ft. Bragg, word was sent to the Center's CO, for all SF soldiers to wear green berets as part of the event. The President felt that since they had a special mission, SF should have something to set them apart from the rest. In 1962, he called the green beret "a symbol of excellence, a badge of courage, a mark of distinction in the fight for freedom."

  • Sadly enough, John Wayne died patriotically from radioactive dust he breathed in for a movie near St George, Utah. He gave his life so that Americans could feel comfortable about A-bomb blasts. We appreciate Wayne's sacrifice as we could never had built a better bomb without him. Rest in peace.

  • Sadly the movie bombed at the box office according to Wikipedia

  • Out here, due process is a bullet!

  • Got to love what Mel Gibson did now that was what happend not the smoking dope all the time in the bush sure some smoked but you had to keep your wits to yourself

  • It was a terrible movie that's become a cult classic. It wasn't even good propaganda. The Green Berets should have shot their writers.

  • THE GREEN BERRAS

  • this film was pro vietnam movie...that was ballsy.

but ill be damned if any asshole says this movie is bad.

it has the duke, george tekai AND chuck norris (small bit but he's there)

but know, critics want this movie gone from history. Yet shit made by oliver "stoned during my time in duty" can make hate movies and he's a genius.

    fucking hollywood.

  • @jegsimmonsproduction George tekai didnt agre with the politics of the film john wayne filmed it in the southern usa he didnt want to take jobs out of the country ill give him credit fot that he used 3 times more ammo than any other war movie even Attack

  • the book was made during Shining Brass operation and the real person, the one JOhn Wayne is representing, was Larry Thorne, a Finn by birth who ahter WW II wend to US and joined the army, was a captain when got killed in a helicopter crash. So, if you say Wayne was a hero in the film, we Finns thank you kindly.

  • @jopassaa You are corrrect. The book is nearly as good as the movie.

  • this song is really the best than the soviet song i hear everyday......

  • fuck it for those who dislike

  • It's the Troll 2 of war movies

  • This is the movie that had me inspired and motivated into joining the military and hoping to go for Special Forces

  • I fly Navy but this is still a great song

  • very nice video thanks !!!!!!

  • This is one of the best movies made with the DUKE in it

  • another good one

  • I swear to God this makes me wanna cry. Why can't movies like this be made today.

  • @bross001Angus Because Hollywood is full of pussies and liberals. Political correctness eats away at us like VD. We need politicians and movie producers with some balls instead of gutless, limpdick eunochs.

  • @CattleRanche Just food for thought. John Wayne got a deferment, more than one in fact, . Oliver Stone served in Vietnam with the 1st cavalry. He was awarded bronze star and purple heart. I think most would argue the latter established greater criteria for having balls.

  • @Konform2zoidberg Perhaps. But one is an American icon and hero. One is a dreamer, illusionist and scumbag. At least that's the opinion of most.

  • @CattleRanche also even some of the soldiers in Stones company even find his movie baffleing and wonder where he got his ideas.

i honestly can't stand his movies.

  • @jegsimmonsproduction LOL....Oliver Stoned...hilarious and great comment hoss. Stone is an idiot.

  • I miss these great old movies. The perverts that run Hollywood now only make Conspiracy and Homo love films.

How far you going? All the way!

    Bobby

    Vietnam Era Veteran

  • @palonejr

I thank you for your service and I would like to tell you welcome home, Sir.

  • the ballad of the green berets , this is a cool ass movie !

  • Now this is one movie that deserves to be remade today! Instead of taking place in Vietnam the remake should take place in modern day Afghanistan.Hollywood should be making patriotic war movies, that's what the movie going public (people like me) want to spend their hard earned money on.

  • @WhiteArmy1918 Hell Yea!

  • @WhiteArmy1918 Instead of remaking it just make a well crafted sequel with the main character name either Col Ham Chung Kirby or Ham Chung Peterson.

  • @WhiteArmy1918

Yes but who would try to fill John Wayne's Boots

  • @shgnwarld Bruce Willis would be my first choice. Ever see Tears of the Sun? Played an awesome special forces soldier. Not saying he rivals the "DUKE" but maybe as close as pussy ass Hollywood could get today.

  • @WhiteArmy1918 Too many pussy ass liberals running Hollywood and in our government. It would be way too politically incorrect to make a moive promoting the military. I fully agree with you, what a great remake this would be. Even if it were Vietnam related.

  • @WhiteArmy1918 true but i would also like to see a Vietnam remade war movie, what htey could is like have clint eastwood telling storys to his like grand kids about his time in the green berets in nam, and his son is a green beret in Afgan sound like a good film? :D
