well its obvious he screen captured a input movie.
When it comes to emulators record movie means he plays the game like normal but the game saves a log file of all of your inputs(the buttons you pressed).
The only emulator that I know that uses savestates along with input recording is VirtualNES but there is a high chance it fucks up the log inputs for TASing when converting
@2010gaje *facepalm* when you record a movie, you can use save states. When you play back the movie, it doesn't show the whole process of you using save states, instead it uses the last state of each situation. So, you can lie about "speed running" when you are actually "TASing". Ever heard of TASvideos(.)org? You can TAS on ANY emulator.
@LTRP300 well i still believe he does his videos that out of skill just like he does on his other channel DarkSpineSonic where he does crazy glitches and cool playthroughs of stages using the original console.
-beleive input movies are immediate proofs for TASes
-girlslaughingatyourpenis.jpg
Seriously, you're kicking up a non-issue. Even if he does TAS, he's banned on TSC so it makes this moot. Even so, his primary competition is managing to do all his strats and more. So right now, you have about as much proof as a bottle of water does. Try again when you notice a TAS'd input file.
@LTRP300 First off, any emulator can record avi. Secondly, you're the one being retarded for trying to prove a point for which you have no proof. Finally, I know more about TASing than you. If you bothered to check my videos, I've used TAS for informational purposes in Sonic Rush. I've seen first hand how TASing strategies work. Also if you really want to 'catch' westerlobe, ask for the .gmvs. They'll have a re-record count. If it's anything larger than 0, then you have 'some' proof. Try again.
1. Thanks tips! I really need to know that all emulators can record in AVI!
2. I have all of the proof. Your too retarded to see it.
3. No you don't. I have set world records on hacks (TAS) that involve great strategies in ways you can't even imagine.
4. OK. Maybe I will ask for the gmv. I'll ask for the ones that he set world records on. And if he doesn't give me a gmv file in 3 days, then I have proved my observation.
@LTRP300 It doesn't prove your observation, it merely renders it inconclusive. If you had any sense of rationality you would know this. If this is all your 'proof', I merely scoff and go back to what i was doing before. If this isn't, then show me the rest. Your words mean nothing unless you can back it up.
Yeah, and I'm sure the heroes videos he has that are pre-TASable-dolphin are TASed too. And the fact that mike89 and flyingfox have seen him do runs live...they were probably both just delusional.
Seriously, delete this video. Or keep it so everyone can laugh at you. Werster may cheat in races, but he doesn't cheat in his sonic ILs.
^ this. He even posts the emulator movies on the TSC forums. Seriously, he's not an idiot, he is not trying to hide that he plays on emulator. If he was then why would he not just keep recording til the screen fades out and cut the recording before "movie finished" shows? This proves absolutely nothing.
I already saw those. I still think you're an idiot.
He is NOT TRYING TO HIDE HE USES AN EMULATOR. Seriously, you can go over to the TSC forums and download his emulator movies yourself if you want (though you might need an account, they're attachments; if you do need an account feel free to not stick around, we get enough idiots as it is).
@Groudon0199 Really? So that is why he could have just done AVI (Doesn't show the note) than recording a movie with savestates (Shows the note) than record it with AVI
@Groudon0199 You can't prove that. there is 99.9% that he used save state while he inputs the video, and 0.01% for not using save states... so. Which one would always be? :)
You know that he records .gmv files. Since they can't be uploaded to YouTube, he records an AVI after getting a successful run (which I do as well). Plus, as both werster and Aitamen said, recording an AVI while playing causes a lot of emulator lag.
Is "Movie Finished" your only proof that he's TASing?
@Groudon0199 But he can just record AVI from the start! Why would he just record a gmv file than record AVI, while ha can just record AVI? No. Let me tell you. It is because he uses save states. And also, AVI doesn't cause emulators to lag. Unless their computers are ancient. :D.
Even if it didn't cause emulators to lag, you'd end up with an AVI file filled with failed attempts. As PPA pointed out, recording a .gmv file first is more convenient, since you don't have to cut out all your failed runs from the AVI.
@Groudon0199 Thats why you edit out the failed attempts, dumbass! And it's like saying if you don't record in AVI alone than you don't have any balls. Like you and Worster.
@LTRP300 Or just maybe that's because when you straight up record AVI it lags the emulator like crazy and creates a big ass file that i can't be bothered dealing with.
@LTRP300 No, creating a frame-heavy AVI suitable for uploading *is* a strain unless you have a high-end GPU. recording straight to AVI without compression creates massive files so space may be an issue, and he usually gives the .giz/.gmv file anyway. Lots of us record to input then replay the input file to record it to AVI, you want to accuse all of us of TASing?
@Aitamen Your a retard. You probably use Windows 2000 because I'm using Windows 7 and when I record AVI while playing, it NEVER lags... unless all of you fags, TAS. :D.
@Aitamen Are you a fucking retard? GPU is a graphic card... I don't see how this relates to this god damn event. I hate faggots like you. People like you should slice your throat because your to fucking stupid to be living. Aitamen, you are a fucking disgrace. When you die, I will be at your funeral. Kicking your body into the dirt hole and pissing on your grave!
@LTRP300 It's related to how an AVI would be generated when using an emulator. It was directed at your comment that recording to AVI wouldn't generate lag.
Now you've cemented yourself as troll and a moron. Congratulations, I didn't think you could fall any further.
Oh boy, someone uses input movies! How bizarre, especially when this is simply more convenient than using a screen recorder for every single try! That's completely unheard of and definitely proves that his runs are tool‐assisted, because as everyone knows, all input movies imply tool‐assisted runs! I bet he even uses savestates to the extent of the .giz files automatically loading the beginning of a run whenever they're replayed!
@PPAChao The files that he records aren't .giz files. He makes the video with save-states, than he plays it back, and then he records with AVI while thinking that nobody would notice that he TASed. And also, if he didn't use save states while recording a movie, then why would he record the movie? He can just simply record AVI than just record the movie than play it back while recording in AVI. Whats the point of doing that? And that is why he does TAS.
@LTRP300 The point of doing that is convenience. If he recorded directly to AVI, he would have to turn on the screen recorder, attempt the run, stop the screen recorder, make it discard or delete the file, wait until it has processed everything, and repeat the whole process some 100–200 times until he gets it right.
With input movies, he can skip all that, easily and instantly discard failed runs without needing to leave the program, and afterwards peacefully record his successful one.
@PPAChao And also, he uses Gens 11b. How do I know that? Well, I just tested out a theory that relates to this video. And once I finish a TAS, the exact same note appears. And, one more thing, the ONLY emulator (Genesis) that can record Giz files is the Gens Plus.
@LTRP300 Once I finished my Emerald challenges years ago, the exact same note appeared too, except none of them were TASes. It's simply how input movies work. Get over it.
