A lot of Australia looks like West Virginia in the US. I need to get a GoPro to share my area like ya'll do. Great video, hope to see more. Stay safe.
High quality Edog , the best adventure riding Ive seen on the tube and DVD in a long time, nice bit of banter too with the kiwi brothers. I know where we are riding next.
@leondenis00 I never ever take for granted our opportunity to ride in this country. On the bright side you can come over and ride it anytime you want! :)
@edog200 I know, mate. I was there on the 2000 Olimpics and you are great people. Sometimes I get a bit nostalgic of the big spaces, because here in Europe we hardly can ride a mere 20 km or so without finding traffic, villages, etc.. On the other hand, my rugby team has to travel smaller distances to the matches :) Love your videos. Cheerio!
I have been looking at buying a Tenere and found your vids researching, I will more than likely buy the bike with the hope of discovering trails like the ones in your video, great work.
@mounce40 Thanks mate. There was a heap of effort in putting that together. Please reward my efforts by attracting more subscribers to the channel. I've got another one in the bag that I will shortly be broadcasting.
great vid mate. you have just convince me. it's the tenere for me. i've been trying to decide between a number of bikes for ages but after watching this i will go with the tenere. greeting from bathurst- home of the great race. :)

@RonnieMX Thanks Ronnie. Took a lot of effort, so please tell your friends to watch it. On another note our next hour long adventure in series will be posted after Christmas.
WooHaa! great vid, i watched them all several times now its awesom.
I wanted a tenere but had to buy a "V-strom 650 expedition" cuz i am riding whit my wife :) and i belive the tenere is not so god whit a pasenger as the V-strom. love that bike to.
That was a great video series. I originally selected it to watch a review of the Tenere, but was pleasantly surprised with an excellent Adventure! I can't wait to upgrade from my 2003 XL230 to a real adventure touring bike, maybe even a Tenere. Thank you for the inspiration guys and keep up the great work!
Thank you very much guys! It is rare to find such a consistent piece of work! You managed to truly share your passion and your expertise. Once more, thanks a lot.
I've just sat and watched them all, what a blast. Thanks for an excellent off road production. I am looking at buying a Tenere before summer and this has certainly helped me in making a decision. I hope Philippe recovered fine. Thanks Matty...
Thanks to all involved in creating this. It is a really enjoyable series. Myself and a few friends are just about to hangup our leathers and move from high speed superbike road riding to the more 'legally - paced' and enjoyable world of adventure biking. I have been interested in the Tenere and this series has helped me make up my mind. Thanks again and best wishes from Sunny South Africa. Rgds, Reggie
@MrNosslo Many thanks. It was a wonderful ride and I'm pleased we spent a little effort to film it and show it to the world. I get a real buzz out getting these types of messages from around the world. Thanks.
@TheBigStevo Thanks mate. In early January we'll be posting another 5 part 50 minute series on the recent New Zealand High Country ride. Now that footage is unbelievable!
one question i have been asking myself since part 1 is: why didnt use take more nimble bikes like crf450x or wr450f or drz400e etc. and...why do use have tyres which are road/trail when u new u were going to be attempting tracks where pure dirtbike/enduroe tyres would dominate. just curios cheers
@meda789 Yamaha Australia had given us the Tenere to test and we wanted to test it 'AS IS' with no modifications. In terms of my KTM640, it doesn't bother me that much, in fact you'll notice on Cobberas I got stuck because I had 35 pounds in a road trail rear tyre. Basically I couldn't be bothered letting the air out. In fact I used the same brand of Tyres, Metzler Saharas to cross the Simpson three times in three weeks. As for mud, don't take those tyres any where near mud!
Hi Guys, when you did one of your recent trips you went through Talbotville & up the South Basalt Knob Track. How did you go? What bikes were you riding? We recently did it and it was a little difficult for some on the day - me included. We ended up going around it via the Brewery Track and then up to Blue Rag - stunning when it is snowing.
Makes me want to go out and buy an adventure bike - that Tenere looked damn fine. I did Cape York back in 81 with 3 good mates (now that was an adventure) and this video made me want to get out there again. Well done and looking forward to your next one. Keep them coming.
That my friend was a great ride! Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience with us mate. And what an amazing scenery Australia has!Maybe I'll have the chance one day to be there and have a ride with some great company as you guys are. Thanks again man!
Wow, that was by far the best montage i have ever seen, well done guys, i ride Victoria all the time and the work that you guys put into this trip and then the work on top editing, commentating uploading your adventure for sharing to everyone is pure gold,
Thanks so much for your effots and i have to say this series has really inspired me to get back to the high country.
Hope Phillip heals up ok, he seems a top fella and even keeps smiling with 6 busted ribs, and a stuffed collar bone. A++
I've spammed too many gig's of videos on youtube over the last 2 years, and now i'm sad, cause i'll never see another set of vids as good as this. They are going straight to the pool room.
@TheBigStevo GO PRO HD! It just does a lot of things better. Mnd you the video compression they use can be a little problematic sometimes on Final Cut Pro, the editing suite I use.
Another fantastic video - keep up the good work. Would like to know the camera equipment you are using - looks like you had multiple cameras recording at tghe same time.
@TheBigStevo We use a Canon Legria HFS 10 with 28 mm lense, One Go Pro HD, one Contour HD and for this video we used a POV and a Panasonic Lumix still shotting vid for water shots.
What a wonderful narration and splendid video recording. I'm speechless..... Edog200 this one is for the books and will be placed on the High video lists upon my Facebook page. Cheers from Oregon!
@edog200 Yes. Oregon is beautiful indeed mate... Heck! All of the planet earth is beautiful for that matter. :) I now have you and your mates on my Facebook page for many others to see this great footage and journalism by you. Thanks once more for the fabulous video and editing!!! :D
@lobes1977 Thanks for the positive comments. We have a commitment to improving production quality, but not at the cost of having a separate cameraman completely detached from the action as those more famous beemer riders have! I'm pleased you liked it.
Dave, I have to concur with all the other comments. Best vids I have seen on youtube!! That would have taken you some considerable time to put together. Can't wait for the next round. Nice to hear Phils comments on the Tenere, silly bugger bet he won't do that again. I had a KLR, got taken out by a van. If I can might replace with a Tenere, or something orange....nah just joking I'll go with the tenere. See you out on the trails one day......
good stuff guys. the riding looks like a blast wish the vid was longer. ive never had the chance to go adventure riding. that would be the perfect vacation. ride bikes all day and sleep in the bush. sadly thought my 3 young boys take up most of my time leaving me with very lil free time. tnks for the vid. hope to see another soon
I really enjoyed your videos. I am looking to get back into venture riding and this has been a great inspiration. I think something like this should be on TV. The reality shows we have on TV here are really bad.
I have been reading some of the discussion on this youtube popularity contest, I would not give it too much brain space, I would prefer to be loved by a few, then liked by a lot. I am currently working my way through "The Guerilla Film Makers Pocket Book" and the message to aspiring film makers is "good story and tell it well". I think you hit the mark on both and further more they do say "Make films as much as you can, its all good practice".
that was another incrediable series it amazes me too that you are not getting the views you deserve , you guys seem to be you tubes best kept secert i dont no if this helps but myself i kinda stumbled across u guys by accident does it help if you find a video title that attracts a lot of search results people generally run with when looking luv your work and congrats on doin outstanding vids
Its really appreciated that you share such a great adventure , and give others dreams of doing the same one day, cheers from me edog, look forward to more :)
.. edog200 mate your video / movie making and Adventure bike skills go hand in hand outstanding video shows the true harshness and isolation of the Australian high country. love to ride in that part of Australia some time.most of the trails were bulldozed in the 1950/60 with international TD24s.. the views will come. it was all worth it,
Amazing video you have yourself there edog. It was put together very well and had some amazing shots, that road that was shown several times was spectacular. Hopefully the views sky rocket for this 5 part series as you definitely deserve the revenue for the time and effort that has been put into such a video.
@edog200 Yeah, I know myself and the rest of your subscribers appreciate it. It is so hard to get popular on youtube I find, especially with more mature videos like these. Maybe if you fast forward your voice track you will get more views, stupid Fred... I broke 20 subscribers the other day though, Yay... haha. I think I may try and study abroad in Australia, going to look into it. The riding looks so great there and the people seem very nice and friendly.
Great series - the best DS riding video quality on "the tube".
I was a little worried the series was going to be a Yamaha commercial, but I think you avoid any blatant pumping of the Tenere. On the trails you were riding it is an overwieght monster.
Great work and thanks for taking me along on your adventure!
This was an epic adventure! I kind of felt like I was a part of it:) I hope you don't feel that your work was in vain because the views are not high (yet) !!
To us privileged enough to subscribe to your channel, there has been a endless wait for the next episode!
As for our belgian mate, I hope he recovers well and soon!
The risen your videos are such good fun to watch, is because you tell the story with your own voice on top of it. You let us in on the action:)
@bobrushton1 A story such as this takes months to produce, and as you can see from the views for the whole series, on one sense it's hardly been worth it.
On the other hand adventurers through out the world have been given a little preview into what their Australian peers are up to.
PROPER production value, and all of it for free. Any plans on releasing more gems like this one?

.. edog200 mate your video / movie making and Adventure bike skills go hand in hand outstanding video shows the true harshness and isolation of the Australian high country. love to ride in that part of Australia some time.most of the trails were bulldozed in the 1950/60 with international TD24s.. the views will come. it was all worth it,

Amazing video you have yourself there edog. It was put together very well and had some amazing shots, that road that was shown several times was spectacular. Hopefully the views sky rocket for this 5 part series as you definitely deserve the revenue for the time and effort that has been put into such a video.

@BBdirtbiking Thanks BB. It's not getting views for the effort, but it was still worthwhile uploading it.

Cheers!
