TUTORIAL: Fishtail Braid for Layered Hair

My hair is kind of medium length. about 5 inches more than shoulder length. But I have quite short layers and when I start my fishtail some of the bits slip out at the top and I have big bits of hair on one side that won't go in it. I quite like having a little bit on one side curled and out of the braid but too much won't go in. Is there a way I can make this look better? (I've tried curbys they get really messy and always slip out). thankyouu

Your hair is long (lucky you) and the layers are really long so it's not really that layered....I have short layers, the shortest at my chin and this doesn't work at all....it's not really for layered hair, it's the exact same thing but you braid the last 2 inches and I can't do that starting from my chin.....lol, but great tutorial anyways! :-)
