When you watch the movie, and you know some of the back story, you Really wonder why he didn't make the news being as young as he was in a dog eat Dog Rock n Roll tour world, I got to see that first hand myself, via the band Disturbed, and Earl Root, their guitar player, We took their van on a major roadtrip live festival show and even stayed in their hotel suite! That was something else!

I think Cameron has said somewhere in a different interview that Russell Crowe had relayed to Cameron that he really enjoyed the movie. Russell obviously took advantage of his BMOC seating location to congratulate Cameron right there.

Cameron Crowe well desrvered this Oscar for Almost Famous. I have loved his work since Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I'm an actual alumni from Clairemont High School in San Diego where Cameron Crowe became an undercover student at the high school in order to write Fast Times. From Clairemont, it became Ridgemont. Loved the shots of the Strand Theater in Point Loma. Saw many surf movies in that theater in the late 70's.

I don't get why these people don't think they're going to win. I probably still have a copy of an Entertainment Weekly Magazine which predicted that Cameron Crowe would win. Any other source would have said Cameron Crowe or Kenneth Longorean (for You Can Count on Me) would have win, all he had to have done was read a newspaper to know he was probably going to win. I'm sure he probably did.

Crowe has a new film coming soon. Shooting starts in January 2009. The film will be a romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon.
