@OfficialRugby It may be a better car, (not according to CR) but Lexus will always be the leader in quality and reliability which makes it first in my book.
lexus ls is good over benz, audi and bimmer when it comes to comfort. lexus is the only one that has fully reclining rear seats. also lexus doesnt have an options list. all options come standard. german manufacturers charge alot for options. on the downside, lexus put no effort into design: the exterior looks below average (the front grill looks like it comes from an ordinary toyota) and the centre console looks pretty average compared to a 7 series BMW or S class benz.
There was an interview with David Champion, CR's car editor. I saw a CNBC documentary about BMW, and he felt that BMW's controls are a little fussy, and takes many steps to do one simple task. You can tell why he prefers Lexus in comparison for luxury vehicles. As said here, the LS scored a 99 out of 100.
This is a very, very nice car. Toyota is a fine car maker. They make reliable family sedans and comfortable Buicks. I'd take the S-Class. I wouldn't even consider the LS. The only real reason to buy the LS would be to save money. If that's the case, then I'd just buy the Genesis, not the LS. It grinds my gears how Toyota thinks that just by putting a few options on a car it makes it a luxury car. If you don't understand what I mean, then Lexus is the car for you.
the s-class might be the worlds most versatile car "sporty in a sense epidimizes luxury, state of the art, dont know about reliablity but owning one means u dont car because u can maintane it, etc etc the LS is pure electronics driven and real luxury not a God damn driving experience every SOB wants from a sports car if u want that go get a FUCKIN SPORTS CAR DUH!!

You sir, have no idea what you're talking about. I think you don't understand what luxury means.

In 2007, the Lexus LS may have been a class leading car. But today I'd argue that the Mercedes Benz S Class has surpassed it.

If the car could stop other people from scraping up your bumpers when they parallel park, then you would have something.

Yes but does it stop when you want it to or does it accelerate on its own?
