I always breed the siblings (F1xF1, F2xF2, etc) rather than crossing back to parents. It's the only way to get the CTPK trait (takes about 4-5 gens. of inbreeding)
it would definitely help to have a second unrelated CTPK line going to interbreed, but that takes tons of space for all those fish...
This is a really fun tail type to try to create. If you are interested I would definitely go for it.
im curios about this..since i also plan to have CTPKs..what do you do after F1? do you cross them back to either parent? or do you inbreed? or do you have another F1 of CT and PK cross which are unrelated and you cross them to each other?
hey shiraz...admire ur hardwork of getting this trait perfect....i myself still on working my super red and green ctpk project... can i know what is the parentage crossing to get this pieces??
It takes 2 generations to get CTPK, but they are usually not very nice. It takes about 5 generations to get really good CTPK, with good webbing reduction in dorsal, caudal, and anal fin. The caudal is the hardest to get right, especially in males. These CTPK are the fourth generation of this line, and the male still doesn't have a nice caudal. The fifth generation is growing up now in my fish room and is looking really great.

my crowntail plakat's rays are curling up.... please help me how to prevent that.... need help

@czoe2011 Sometimes rays curl because the water is too dirty or because the pH is off. Try doing more water changes and see if that fixes things.
