Another way to do this is to shoot off one of his legs and when you do that he'll start shooting organic bombs at you and all you have to do is use your kenisis and catch and throw them back and they do some decent damage to him.

@Blitzfrenzy78 That's my weapon of choice when fighting the big Brutes head-on, is using the primary fire mode from the Line Gun after using Stasis. I think on Hard and Impossible, it probably takes either triple or quadruple Line ammo to kill a Brute head-on, but have plenty of spare Stasis Packs in your inventory if you're gonna try it on the harder difficulty levels.

You can just stasis him then shoot a leg off. After that just kinesis the pods he throws at you. He basically kills himself.

The Brutes are alot harder in Dead space 2 since they just do there charge attack the majority of the time which is hard to dodge without using stasis.

This is the hardest way to do it ever. Just statis him and then lay into his shoulders. They are his weakness, you can tell by them being yellow/green much like the hivemind arms you have to shoot.

Not. Stasis him then take his arms off with the Plasma Cutter. If you have spent your points on Stasis and the Plasma Cutter this is very quick. If you find thishard you are probably missing the joint or using some other gun.

actually, i just used stasis on him when he charged out and ravaged his arm with plasma cutter shots cause i was going for the one gun achievement. after his arm is gone, you'll have no problem finishing him off(: and i did it under a minute on hard

actually, vertically oriented shots from the plasma cutter to the shoulder blades ( from the front or back since that area is exposed) should take him down..each shoulder blade takes 6-12 shots depending on how accurate u r.

If you use the contact beam, and you shoot him in the shoulder joints and it only takes 2 in each arm on normal and 3 on hard.

There's an easier way to do that take a line gun a shoot at his feet eventually after a few shots he will fall to the ground and try to hide his face when that happens freeze him with staus take out your strongest weapon and shoot him in the back

Picked up Dead Space last week after my friend recommended it many times. My first play through ON HARD started last night, and I've been up almost 8 hours playing this damn game. I killed this brute with the plasma cutter upgraded to +3 damage nodes and stasis. The next brute is giving me hell.

Why don't you stasis it and shoot it in the arm joints? those yellow thingies by its arm pits It work a lot faster and saves you tons of ammo.. (remember shoot of the limbs..)

This really happened to me. I just started playing this game. I never had a chance to when it first came out so I rented it.

I was playing on easy and ran out of ammo. I was running around to open some boxes and it comes and knocks me off my feet. I get back up and bleep bloop - brute force unlocked. LOL. Wish I had replay on what happened.

Never played this game other than a demo, but I just love RoosterTeeth and the RvB guys that I just watch their stuff.

Even though I haven't played this game, I love when you have these little loopholes to beating the big bad dudes, where you can get a pattern going to keep yourself more or less unhurt by going around a corner that they won't follow you around. You just don't have that much anymore.

You can actually kill brutes easily by using stasis, then shooting the top area of his shoulders, (where you can see the spikes that are on they're backs). the plasma cutter can usually kill it in one clip using this method. hope this helps :)

It is much easier to do it the normal way, shoot him in the arms in the weakspots, when he takes like 7 shots he will drop to the ground and cover, then you statis and go behind him and bam bam bam, 2-4 times on impossible and this guy is dead, although he kills you on 1 hit I believe.

If you know what your doing the brute is easy i just use my favorite weapon the plasma cutter (fully upgraded) and aim for the shoulder joints and use stasis if it gets too close for comfort which is rare it only takes a few shots per joint for me. basicaly take out both of its arms and its dead.

No the best thing to do, is stasis him, run behind him, and load about 2 clips of ripper blades , even is about to stand up just keep rippering him and he wont be able to move anymore. Then after about 16 rippers he dies.
