Yes, he was a good sportscaster and knowledgeable about it as well, but I like him as a journalist speaking truth to power. I agree there could be many other candidates for worst person, but it is just one segment out of many and not the most important out there.

If you had ever actually WATCHED KO's show, you would know that he DOES have a segment titled - wait for it - "Best Persons in the World". Don't you feel foolish now?

My point was: he does a lot of complaining and criticizing without really solving any of the issues he raises. His token bit about "best people" pales in comparison to the about of negative bitching he does.

KO's a journalist and commentator. 'Solving' the problems he points to is not in his job description. Ever hear the phrase "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? Ignoring wrong-doing, especially for a journalist, is complicity. Is that really what you are advocating?

I'm talking about solving the world's problems as a human being, not as a profession. He's a good journalist, but he is too biased to the left. Just look at his long list of guests ... aaaaalllllll left-leaning and agreeable interviews. It just seems to me that Keith's show is a prefab formula that he knows will work with some people: pretend you are all pissing and bitch about what everyone else is or isn't doing. I'm about as far from the right as you can imagine btw so don't try that rebutal.

OK - so please give me an example of a problem and solution that KO could offer from his bully pulpit. Or are you saying he should quit journalism and join the Peace Corp? I'm really at a loss here trying to understand what exactly it is you want him to do. I agree with you that he should have more adversarial guests upon occasion - as long as they are able to stay away from talking heads screaming over the top of each other.

I guess what I would like to see is a kinder and gentler KO, one who doesn't keep a list of "worst" people or routinely call people liars simply because he doesn't know or agree with his or her motives. He could take a lesson from Larry King or Charlie Rose. Learn a little from your foes instead of bashing them over the head every night. I enjoy parts of his show, but the pretentious interviews and rhetorical rants are getting too routine and predictable.

Did you see his interview with Scott McClellan on 5/29? It was about a 40 minute, in-depth interview the likes of which are seldom seen these days. The last time I saw an interview like that was on Rose, or with Jim Lehrer on PBS. And personally, I enjoy his 'Special Comment' rants. Something this country has been in need of in recent years is a prominent voice speaking 'truth to power'. I'm thankful that KO has stepped up to the plate in that regard.

Yes, I watched the McClellan interview and I agree, it was good. KO was calm, intelligent and articulate. The irony is ... and he eluded to it himself when he asked who was more surprised that McClellan was there ... that if McClellan hadn't had a change of heart [from right to left], KO wouldn't have given him the time of day. And for me that's the disappointing part I guess. If only KO could have similar interviews with people he actually disagreed with.

OK, I'm pretty much in agreement with everything you say here. :-) I have honestly had the same thoughts that you articulated here while watching his show. I don't know how much of his guest list is dictated by who he wants to have on, as opposed to who is willing (from the right wing in particular) to go on his show and potentially be ripped into tiny trembling pieces. My guess is that it is more of the latter then the former. Cheers!

Agreed. And the only person "worse" than KO is Bill O'Reilly. That man is a complete buffoon and doesn't warrant the attention that KO [or anyone else for that matter] gives him. KO needs to cut that guy lose from his commentaries and concentrate on intelligent, unbiased, informative interviews. Good talking with you.

Malkin is brilliant. She hates so-called "anchor babies", used by immigrants to stay here. But she's an anchor baby of Filipino immigrants. She thinks we should take the war where the terrorists are. Guess where there are radical Muslims. Guess where the asshat who bombed the WTC the first time had an apartment. Yeah, the Philippines. She supports profiling and wrote a whole book about how the Japanese interment of WWII was great. Someone should racially profile her ass, inter, then deport her.
