Guatemala is not a country on the "go". It is a third-world nation that stills brushing itself from the senseless civil war. The roads, rails, and highways are inadequate. The buildings are concrete shells with one primer and one coat of lead paint. The communication systems is erratic. The electricity grid hasn't seen a good replacement since the 1950's. Guatemala has nothing interesting. It simply doesn't compete with Mexico or Brazil. So can anybody tell why this PR rubbish is here ?
I don't want a cosmopolitan country, I just want a country that thrives on being a unique culture and people. The more diversity the more it looks like the crowded and bane United Nations. I don't want Guatemala to be a egalitarian society. That is what Hugo Beer Chavez tried to do but failed. Being a Central American republic with a strong ingenious people that celebrates its mountains and lakes, waterfalls is good enough for me.
guatemala is really something. though there is plenty of news about the growing violence in the country, i still find it to be an extraordinarily welcoming and beautiful place. i went to costa rice before guatemala, and the two countries are so surprisingly different. i don't think ill ever go to costa rica again, but ive already got my return trip to guatemala planned.

I am surprised from a man living in Guatemala who understands no English can still make a response. The reason why I don't think Guatemala "welcome video" is interesting is the country is a place no person other than Guatemalans and geography students know where it is. Tourist/commercial businessmen know Mexico and Brazil, but may never heard of this place. Just saying. If they, they meaning (Americans and Europeans) find out about Guatemala, they'll be forced to

Dear ence 1982,
I am surprised from a man living in Guatemala who understands no English can still make a response. The reason why I don't think Guatemala "welcome video" is interesting is the country is a place no person other than Guatemalans and geography students know where it is. Tourist/commercial businessmen know Mexico and Brazil, but may never heard of this place. Just saying. If they, they meaning (Americans and Europeans) find out about Guatemala, they'll be forced to

adjust quickly. Southern Guatemala may have no air pollution but the air is breathless beginning over 500 meters so vertigo becomes an issue. Northern Guatemala has more jungle than anyone with a machete can slash with. The Capital city, Guatemala City, is no New York, Chicago, or Miami. Just not enough commercial appeal. Guatemala is truly wonderful! Great places and great peoples. In fact, Guatemala is one of my favorite country not only in Central America but in the whole world...
I also learn some spanish words when I watch and read about Guatemala and I can say that Guatemala has the same culture in my country (PHILIPPINES). Of course, If i'm not mistaken Guatemala and Philippines was colonized by spaniards but not all of the filipinos knows some spanish, we speaks tagalog or filipino!
