I started doing opiates when i was 13, when i was 16 I realized I was addicted. I was IV'ing oxy and coke everyday, and smoking 100ug/fentanyl patches when I could get a hold of them. I weaned my tolerance down to snorting oxy and quiting coke cold turkey when i turned 18. I'm 20 now, and I've weaned myself down to 2-3 lortab 10's a day. I've been through hell with opiates, NEVER EVER TOUCH THEM. I'm shipping off for boot camp in the army in 2 months and following my dream, if you just stick to

I quit a pretty serious opiate habit cold turkey a couple months ago...it was hell...even after physical withdrawals..tha mental shit was unbelievable..i had depression almost to tha point of suicide...extreme anxiety (never had that before) and overall constant mental anguish...however its mostly in your head and DOES subside in a couple weeks...IT WAS DEFINATELY WORTH IT. it may call on all your willpower but you will be better for it. remembering wds help me stay clean everyday

@Porker2DaMax - Marijuana is great for some people in specific circumstances but it's not going to get her through this kind of withdrawal-wish it were that easy.

Contrary to popular belief (or not), marijuana does not provide all consumers with confidence or energy-it usually does the opposite (fatigue, at least).

While I agree with your convictions of opiate meds and deaths, the over-inflated-save-all concept of marijuana is purely subjective. Thanks!

Vicodins destroyed my life and my friends life. I quit my job of 21 years because when I was taking doctor perscribed vicodins, I couldn't think straight. All I thought was "I hate this job. I quit." and I went into financial ruin. I did other really stupid stuff too. Painkillers make you fearless. Being fearless is fun but it's also a great way to make some really poor life decisions.

The problem with drug addiction is the fact that drugs are illegal & because of government regulations they can't get the drugs.They are then forced to pay high street prices which runs them in to bankruptcy. They would be better off being supplied with the drugs. At least then they can function.
