I just so happen to live in NC, Lawndale to be exact. I also have an 03 Xterra SE. I recently added a Spectre CAI to it, and I'm pretty impressed with the change in sound. I'd like to do exhaust, but I'm on a pretty tight budget. Do you know how much it would be for just one of those mufflers?

What size was the piping? And how much did it cost in total for the installation of this custom pipe job? I'm definitely gonna attempt this set up when i get my X pretty soon. Cant wait haha.
@MCfar1in i bumped the piping up to 2.5". for install plus piping was $260, if you have pipes already it would probably be less. i got this done in north carolina, and i have a link to another vid of my car in the description so you can see it a bit better what is going on under the car.

Got the same set up as you on my 02 X but im using a flowmaster and I love the sound it gives off but yours is a little more louder than mine, yours sounds a little like a exhaust system for a car as well but mostly has the sound of a truck
Just added one to my X. Dual pipes and everything. Sounds so GOOODDD!!!!!! I was amazed at how well it sounded, also i notice a difference n performance. But be warned, the drone is loud, especially in the 2000 rpm range. But its a nice setup, much better than the nismo, gibson ,magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers.
I have an 03 supercharged and i really want to upgrade the exhaust! I've looked at magnaflow and it runs like 550 just for the kit and i think thats only one exhaust but i actually kinda like the thought and look of two. Nice truck man!
@csamperio71 i didnt get a kit. i bought the muffler and tips and had the piping custom done. the muffler was about $60 and the tips were 30$ a piece. if you have any more questions, just ask and thanks for the compliment!

Dude, this is the best sounding 1st Gen Xterra on the web. I have a 2002, but I was told I couldn't get a dual exhaust because of the fuel tank, how'd they route yours? I'd love to try something like this!
@chazamis Thanks for the compliment. The muffler is placed back at where two pipes converge to form form a single inlet to the stock muffler. the pipes were cut so that the two pipes could be run in to the duel inlet. On the way out, the pipe on the right side was run over the spare tire. It then comes back down and out in between the rear tire well and the spare tire. The two guys that put this on for me had a combine 50 years experience too.
Dual exhaust - now that is a really cool setup! Good job!
