  • I spy with my little eye a B.O.S. helmet

  • Next time use heat hand gloves or at least hand gloves. HElps.

  • nice avatar!!

  • Can you use a blow dryer instead of a heat gun because I don't know where to get a heat gun.

  • He can't use the heat gun to flatten it because if he uses it Tom much it will crack the visor.. He not only says it in the video

  • HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER!

Just flatten the visor with the heat gun then use a vacuum former to make the shape!

  • can u make a tut for halo 2 odst visor

  • Hm.... wouldn't it be easier to make a cast mold of the template, and then melt the visor inside the cast mold to get a more accurate shape?

  • geology rocks

  • this will help me so much

  • What wattage is the heat gun

  • spaceprops helmet is better it even have cusioning and a fan

  • @JustAAkonFan Dude he's just showing the visor......... If you were smart you dont put a visor in a fully padded Helmet... Visor comes first, Pads, LED's, and then fans Ect.

  • you'll be ok, cause you'll be upstairs, with the TV, and you'll cry but I probably won't hear you, cause it's loud with the shop vac on!

  • Maybe you could print the visor on paper, tape it to the motorcycle visor, and then fold it?

  • can you make a master cheif visor tutorial plzz i need my costume 2 be perfect * sorry if i missspeld*****' :)

  • Y cant u just heat the whole visor and push it against that paper visor

  • I think I'm just going to use hoyt glue. I don't have a heat gun anyway.

  • wat did he use to cut the parts for the visor

  • i had an idea do wat he did with the heat gun but instead of bendin it that far have it spread a bit so when you put it in the visor itll bend and press against the sides of the helmet, also to keep it in there but velcro on the visor and the helmet sides

  • Why is it so thin and tall? Did something go wrong in the molding process?

  • @dragonbreathstinks

    THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!

  • @forgetfulcarrot Thatdoesn't have the same effect on the internet. Not funny.

  • @dragonbreathstinks

    ........

    has the same effect anywhere

  • @dragonbreathstinks probably the camera

  • thanks for the explication. now I know how do my visor

  • where do u get ur visor??

  • @ILOVEPEACHES147 Hey, sorry for replying to you comment 1 month after you posted it but if you still need a visor you can google polycarbonate visor's since that is probably the best material to use for a visor.

  • as awesome as it is, can it go in to VISR mode?

  • what about the inside?

  • Can you try and make Carter's Commando helmet? :D

  • couldnt you just take the visor cast part you had at the start and take it to a perspex store and get them to . . . .well put perspex over it so you would then have a perfect visor? just wondering. haha. im not up to that stage yet but thats what im planning on doing.

  • why didn't you just press the mold on the hot part of the visor? you wouldn't have needed to cut it into two different parts.

  • dude...not bad

  • Making a vac form to do this may have been easier.

  • you don't know how long iv searched the world wide web for this! my friend is making ODST and I'm making RECON! i was going to go with the motorcycle visor approach i can get them on eBay for <$20the only thing we r missing is the heat gun...... nice video!

  • where can you get the blue motercycle visor?

  • @DAYTON218 E-bay usually has tons of different visors available, thats where i got a gold one for my chief helmet.

  • wow we dont really need an odst hel vis since after we used teh heat gun it looked like the helm vis from tron

  • spartan k13 from 405th, i haven't uploaded yet

  • that helmet is AWESOME i freakin love ODST, i tried making that same helm but i could afford paper, glue and paint, therefore, when i left it on the table, it died at the bottom. ill have some pics of all my armor on a vid soon. ive only made odst armour.

  • Hey - don't you all fail to say something? : D

He states that this is one of his first Works on a ODST Helmet or his very first and it looks pretty well for a first try, don't you think?

So - WELL DONE!! Awesome Work!! Pretty nice, well made.

Of Course there are some Tricks and Stuff to make the Visor even better, but for a single private Person without any help - it's freakin Awesome!!

He is already Badass to make a Helmet of this Quality!!

  • You should just use tinted plexi glass because it molds nice

  • lol awsom UNSC helmet in the bakground

  • Thanks for this video man, this should help me alot of my Air Assault helm in the next couple months

  • where could i buy a cheap motorcycle visor?

  • @FlashPlayerFreak do you know were there is a tutorial for that?

  • Will a hair dryer work?

  • 5:12 look in the visor

  • 4:13 it looks like there is flood blood on that plastic

  • is there not a way of making a mold out of the bit you cut out and filling it with resin and putting in a tint or something similar?

  • idea why dont you have like 3 people use a heat gun on it and then press the melted visor to the bondoed visor for the best shape?

  • is that helmet made out of paper?

  • dude how much do i need to pay you to get one of those helmets

  • yeah if we dont have a heat gun can we use a hair dryer or something else?

  • hmmm.... odst is quite similar to cqb which is what im making. how should i mak my visor. ugh. i think this may be the hard part.

  • how hard was that to pep?

  • is the visor mirror faced or just dark tinted?

  • how could u make an EVA visor?

  • @repulse777 vac form it

  • @repulse777 lol good luck with that one.

  • how could u make an EVA visor?

  • couldnt you just heat that up alot... then press it over the cut out visor, therefor taking its shape as you press it hard? your way is very good, just another thought.

  • could you use a regular hair dryer on full heat

  • rc cola

  • Great job man thanks for the info

  • thanks this really helped alot

  • yeah but the folded area has a hole in it. Shouldn't the next step be to fill that gap with bondo then Vacuum seal it?

  • could this work for a halo 2 odst helmet?

  • do you use pepakura or do you cast your helmets? Or maybe something else?

  • Have you tried vacuum forming visors?

  • Is that a fallout 3 Helmet? to the right of the odst.

  • We just need one that has a working HUD and visor.

  • does this apply to any helmet?

  • @DontPutSpiceonRice No only for ODST Visor's since they have that huge bend. Master Chief Helmet you will need two visors but then you'll need to have a dremel tool to cut out the double visor effect on one visor and place it on the regular visor.

  • This probably wont make much sense, but couldn't you just take the visor from the motorcycle helmet, put it on top of the pepakura visor, and blast it with a heat so that you could make the crease in the center

  • I'm da rookie for halloween now!

  • if yu want to get fancy u can use a vacume former

  • He sounds like David Henrie. Anyway thanks.:)

  • SMEXY!

  • I found that the motorcycle visor in an ODST helmet fits better if you attach some metallic tabs to the inside of the helmet's frame via screws, then slot the visor into those tabs. That eliminate's the need for gluing altogether, so there is no ragged glued edge to conceal, and you can easily remove the visor if necessary. The visor's own tension will hold it in place snugly without it falling out.

Also, have you considered using a mold to press the visor into as you heat it?

  • why didnt you just vacuum form the visor from the mold you had? It would be an exact replica.

  • Did you use a dremel to cut the visor?

  • how did you cut the visor to shape

  • what did yuo use to cut the visor with?

  • What I would have tried would be to make a two part mold of the non-transparent visor peice you cut out of the helm and then used a clear resin to cast an exact duplicate from the mold. You could use a clear jewel tint to give it a dark blue tint much like a motorcycle visor.

  • its nice but a little skinny

  • If you folded it too much couldn't you just heat it up and bend it to the correct shape?

  • wouldnt you be able to bend the top part of the visor back to fit better once u got the sharp corners that you wanted?

  • tengenn toppa combined whith master chief helment?

  • I roughy u should heat up te visor get a damp cloth that is cold and use it as a mold and use the cloth to form it into the shape

  • hom much does the visor cost ?

  • oh yeah and it is realy squashed by the chin peace

  • no afence but your helmet is realy thin

  • It's to thin

  • Power Helmet FTW

  • dude at the last part the helm look like CQB wtf man but cool :)

  • lol my gt is cpt Sigma

  • to thinn!!! but better than anything i could make

  • good idea!! i hadnt thought of that

  • how much u want for the helmet

  • its too thin, like hes been ran over

  • Were you the guy on the Fallout Fan Fic Forum that made The T51B-Pre War College Kid outfit?

  • when someone refers to "bondo" are they talking about body filler? because bondo is just the brand, i just wanna make sure im on the same page here, but yeah i dont really understand that step either

  • whoa was that a power armor helmet next to it? bad ass

  • how much did that motorcycle visor cost?

  • yeah

  • It's a chunk of plastic, so I'd imagine it's cheap... It might have some cost to it due to the fact it shouldn't shatter into eye-gouging pieces in a crash... but idk

  • i want some rc

  • I see a fallout 3 helmet... Fucking awsome dude how in the hell did u make that

  • if your selling it can i buy it for how much?

  • looks awesme

  • can u show ure fallout 3 helmet

  • hmm microwave lol dont try

  • would u be able to put it in a shop oven and put the fiberglass thing under it to where it melts to the perfect shape?

  • if we dont have a heat gun, can we use the microwave?

  • I wouldn't attempt it. You could damage the visor and your microwave. (I'm fairly certain the tint is made up of metal particles, while I'm thinking of it)

Also, it's likely to release chlorine gas from the plastic, which is deadly. I barely trust a heat gun outside on that thing.

  • I lolled at this for a bit before i decided to post up this lil message.

If you dont have a heat gun just use a hairdryer, if you dont have either pick one up they are quite useful xD

  • @Afterfield

i just finished trying a hair dryer.,, it doesnt work well :S

  • @goodtimesontoob only if you want cancer

  • @goodtimesontoob HOLY SHIT! for anyone out there wondering the same......DON'T USE A MICROWAVE! some bike visors have embedded metal parts that you may not notice and in some cases the reflective finish on the visor is made using metallic fibres. metal + microwave = KABOOM! If you survive the blast, you're parents will kill you anyway.

  • @The666Reaver lol. use an old microwave.... away from the house.... and take cover! lol

  • @MrAchan20 LMAO xD

  • @goodtimesontoob can also useing a oven on low heat with a bakeing sheat you never need again

  • its not to walk around in its for halloween, or if youre bored

  • T51-b Fallout Power Armor

Check out my other vids to see the build process of it.

  • told ya. dumbass

  • wow, ur a genius arent u....

  • as a matter of fact i pride myself in my knowledge of armors. real or fictional....plus you just got served.

  • ? wait wait wait, i tought u ment the helm in vid was power suit. My bad.

  • oh...well dont i feel like like a jackass.....sry

  • using the cut out visor to your advantage, once you've heated the back end of the visor maybe u can use the cut out as a sort of guide, since its semi hard and symetrical it be using a hard press for u to bend the edges

  • idk... It looks a little narrow or thin, if you know what I mean...

  • yea and the top look kind of high too...
