I like their first 5 albums including the much hated 'Black Album' They were at their peak. I like Megadeth too, but speed isn't everything. Dave is said to be an ass by many ppl, but I havent met him. Regardless his guitar playing is fantastic, when I got enough of Metallica went to Megadeth and then to Slayer and then I went underground... DEATH! (Witchhunter general, DRI, Suicidal Tendencies were also discovered)

Most death metal today is mostly drums and singing. You can hear the guitar but not as loudly as the drum. This is what I mean by why Death is one of the only only few good death metal bands. They write great songs, they have better mixing then the bands today, and if you like thrash metal you'll pretty much like them.
