  • Why the personal attacks on miss Sills? She was a great singer, a good actress, a good solid musician and an artist of great influence in popularizing Opera with that marvelous personality.Except for being coloratura sopranos SILLS AND SUTHERLAND were like apples and oranges. She sounded nothing like Sutherland and Sutherland sounded nothing like her. She sang Baby Doe better than anyone ever has or ever will.

  • @intelegentable Yes;, she had a very good coloratura voice and was able to put feeling into it. Her pitch was very good and now that she is gone, its a shame to criticize her.

  • Horace at 1:30, hubba, hubba!!! I wonder when Ghost Adventures will investigate the Tabor-Doe town.

  • @ykaiilah You can contact wwwdotbabydoedotorg to inquire about past or future ghost hunting at the Tabor Opera House, the Clarendon Hotel, and the Matchless Mine.

  • i love these kind operas. wish they were standards.

  • Beverly Sills inhabited this role from this opera.. She gives me goosebumps when she sings this music.

  • google Horace Tabor and google Baby Doe to discover who these peeps were. This opera is based on a true story, a tragically, bittersweet true story !

  • Oh man, I can't listen to this without crying! I can't imagine having to sing it!

  • Walter Cassel (1910-2000) was Tabor; Frances Bible (1919-2001) was Augusta.

  • That's great, thank you!

I haven't heard much of her, but this sure is beautiful.

Who are Horace Tabor and Augusta Tabor?

  • Beverly said she used to get very emotional when she sang this. I can understand, it is just the most beautiful aria ever sung by the the most competent of Baby Doe's! Brava Beverly and Bravo Kestal !!!!XXXXXXXX!!!
