2:53 is actually savage, sounds like from the 80s! or that scene from Shaun Of The Dead where they come home from the Winchester drunk and they are playing their electro vinyl in the living room hahahahaha!!
there 3rd album was brilliant in its own right, all there albums have sum gr8 songs the 1st been the most original and the fukin absoloute best....the 1st album pulld off more mellow bluesy tunes vry well wheras the 3rd album didnt, lyk roll the dice and WPRLA were shyt!!!
Christopher Karloff was the guy that gave Kasabian their dark edge man! Great songwriter. Kasabians just not the same no more. They still have great songs but nothing compares to the first album
@KurtCobainof21 Totally agree, After he left, they struggled to even continue to try and produce the quality sounds he made. Hence why the direction of their style in their 3rd album was a shocker for a few people.
@flaperise The way I saw it was CK had the dark metal type songwriting style and serge was like this dance music mixed with beatles/oasis kind of songwriting, and they mixed so perfectly. Club Foot was pure genius for instance. Now its just dance music which isnt bad but i miss old days
@KurtCobainof21 Hit the nail on the head. Couldn't agree anymore with what you said. I know that they want to focus more on pink floyd influences on the next album. But i was disappointed with the 3rd. It lost the edge. the Electronic feel. The soul etc. Ofcourse the second album Before chris karloff finally left he wrote and collaborated on a few songs on the album.
@KurtCobainof21 Absolutely spot on, Kasabian have never been the same since Karloff departed. Club Foot live these days is fucking rotten, Karloff on bass is sadly missed
@KurtCobainof21 i put this record as the best of this century so far. And it's so sad that despite in the UK no one talks about Kasabian in other countries, i mean, referring to Kasabian as the great band of our time. This album is a masterpiece
Massive Kasabian fan here and love what you've done here for other people to enjoy. I'm from leicestershire and met Tom and serge a few times, both great people and role models. nice one
According to what i've just seen of genevieve this is nothing in comparison, and this album and artist are on a complete different level, so i'd advise don't come onto my videos and put negative comments like that, i admire peoples opinion on their tastes but not like that.
this is one of my favourite albums of all time, and i never did quite get as attached to the more recent kasabian stuff.. this album just blows you away, but you do ideally really have to listen to the whole thing... and btw, kasabian live are AMAZING... well i saw them back in the day a couple of times, they rocked... this album ROCKS and it's pretty different to anything out there, especially that mad it into the mainstream... love that drop! woop!
i mean shit, i would class their first album as a classic.
a fucking masterpiece.
damn its always sad to watch a group/artist/whatever lose it...kasabian was fucking quality...i cant count the amount of times ive fallen asleep to and stayed awake listening to that album...its one of those rare ones lol
well. i guess i could give it more of chance lol. but it may grow on me. their have been some albums that i hate and after listening thru them once or twice i think its coolest thing ever. alright. ill give west ryder a chance
I have to agree with you, the first album was stunning masterpiece, you couldn't want more from an album and it was one of them rare albums that you liked every single song on it, but i feel now they've kind of lost their touch on it, the new one has songs made 2 or so years back when the second one was new, but this is my opionion
Butcher Blues, lol yeah definately. I love the reason is treason remix at the end of the album as well, after like 2 minutes of silence lol, that screaming riff that starts it is insane.
hehe first time i heard it i was stoned out of my mind laying on my coach on the verge of passing out after just chilling and listening to the album...then i heard that riff and sat up hehe
ahh come on!i mean this album is amazing yes but west ryder is pretty fucking good too.i dont think they have lost their touch atall they have unbelievable raw talent.
During a concert, the vocalist doesn't have to tire xD

I could write to the exciting likes of this.
But eyes divided deny the third a kiss.
Why we try is why we deserve the shit.
Defining times by the useless words they spit.
My crying eyes don't justify the worst of it.
Why despise when you can just work with it?
All of these "lies" get denied like Copernicus.

really sad that kasabian kind of left the style of their earlier work behind, it really made them distinct, now they are pretty generic it seems

This could easily be a soundtrack to let's say a fighting scene in James Bond (or anything involving men in suits who fight each other) :)

And this tune is their best imo .
