This could be an amazing add on to an already great franchise. Bioware is not perfect, but please don't dismiss multiplayer at face value. MA is not becoming Call of Duty. Please wait and think before attacking them. Don't you think they have at least earned a little of our trust over the years?

They've already confirmed that you can get a perfect ending without playing co-op in the first place, co-op just HELPS, it fits into YOUR Shepard's canon, it benefits YOUR Shepard, there are no fucking problems with it. Just because YOU don't want to play co-op doesn't make this a bad idea.

Why does this video have so many dislikes? Mass Effect getting a multiplayer is nothing bad. To those who are complaining that it would ruin the single player experience are idiots, Bioware isn't forcing you to play the multiplayer. You could still get the S ending without the multiplayer, multiplayer just makes it easier to get it. As an avid ME fan myself, I'm really excited to see how the multiplayer plays out.

@RobbyTheSheef He's not wrong though. DA2 was nowhere near as good as Dragon Age. It wasn't horrible, but Bioware has a bad habit of making things "better" and "streamlined" but just yanking those features in the first place. Same rings true with Mass Effect and ME2. I'm really, really hoping this isn't the case with ME3.

@TheRipePunani If it wasn't a sequel the game would have been considered amazing. Personally I enjoyed it more than DA:O. It flowed better and the characters were more interesting. The skill trees worked better, too. Lockpicking was no longer a skill on its own so putting points in it didn't feel like a waste as far as combat. Spells were more varied and worked better together as well. People act like it was a crappy game, but it was awesome.

@RobbyTheSheef Maybe the fact that there were a grand total of 3 maps, used over and over again. No armor/weapon customization for allies. The plot was spread so thin that it felt like you were just playing a few segments of shortstories rather than one cohesive narrative. Oh flee ferelden. Work as slaves. Make money. Deep roads. Suddenly, Qunari. Anders and the chantry. There's no epic narrative story telling aspect that we've come to expect from Bioware. Also the gameplay was really simplified

Dalish warrior, elf slave, Human noble, etc. In 2 you are hawke. you have no say in how you came be in the intro, you are just hawke. instead of combat being satisfying, it was just oh hey, here's 4 more waves of dudes to mow through. Also,DAO ended with huge satisfaction where 2 ends with you just going, Is that it?

Honestly I was disappointed that I could only play a human at first, but when I realized that it allowed the developers to do more with the story I was fine with it. Your family stays with you the whole game long. Having races would have made that a bit more difficult. It could have been better, but it was far from horrible. Had it not been a sequel, you probably would have said "That was a pretty decent game" instead.

@InfectedBeats I actually enjoyed Dragon Age 2, believe it or not. I guess I'm just a sucker for well written characters. Besides, the team working on Mass Effect is a different one relative to Dragon Age. The explanation that Casey gives for these Co-op missions left me impressed. I'm greatly looking forward to being able to play as an Asari or Turian soldier, giving us a real look at the actual war that's going on while Shepherd is leading his small team.

@LeftyFlip1 Yeah, its a form of DRM. The multiplayer they mentioned literally adds nothing to the value of the game. It's an RPG, not a MMORPG, there's really no need for MP. What the "feature" adds isn't relevant at all, you can do all of that by yourself with your party. They added this so people who pirate won't be able to experience the full game. I'm not saying pirating is right, but DRM is getting out of hand.

@mmclenna They don't have to. But that's the reason this multiplayer is in the game. To deter pirates. That's the only point I was making. But, companies methods to deter pirates, I.E. DRM, is turning off a lot of people who actually buy the game. Have you tried to play any recent Ubisoft games that you bought when their servers are down? Guess what, you can't. Same with some EA, THQ, and Activision games. Crackers actually made more playable games than devs because of DRM.
