@paui1 No, it hasn't. The video is showing gameplay of an E3 demo of the game and people are referencing to the prequel, Metro 2033, only people who have played this are the developers and game testers. And yes, it'll still release in 2012 until they say so.

@starwarstheclonew100 Yes a 360 version and since it's squished from a PC sized game to fit, it will max your hardware. Crysis started on PC.. How was that on consoles? Battlefield.. ext

Games can be squished but not stretched. starting from a console version there often ends up being unused headroom. Think of console game exclusives 1st game to 2nd improvements.

I don't care for your fucking realism. The immersion is where you can care about a game, if you can get immersion through realism or snorting cocaine before playing- it doesn't matter as long as you get it. Metro 2033, I didn't have to try to get to the immersion, it was there and waiting for me, like it was for all fans. I would find my self not breathing in reality when my mask filters were low and Artyom and me were looking for more to survive. Hope this sequel brings me more of what I love.

@tacticianSHG I definitely agree, this really is one of the most immersive games I have played. The only other games I really get immersed into are the elder scrolls and especially Fallout 3. I don't know why, but those are the only games that have actually ever scared me or made me jump. I never got scared by games like Dead Space which are supposed to be horror. Only few games can make me feel like I am actually there, and I hope this game does the same. Also as you said realism doesn't matter

whats beautiful about this game isnt just the atmosphere it creates or the realism, its the way it blends all of those things together into the gameplay. you feel the atmosphere because youre playing it. it breaks my heart when a decent game is only decent when it could have been amazing. if other game devs put as much care and attention into games as metro's devs did, the FPS genre as a whole would be a lot less bland.

I loved metro since i loved stalker very much, if you play both games, you'll notice that metro is a bit of a rip-off from stalker, same gun sounds, walking, breathing and monster sounds, and i find it awesome, it surely beats stalker in fps but still has some work to do to beat it in the story.

Rarely are games made that breathe so much atmophere and realism as Metro.

Even with monsters, ghosts and other anomalies. The Metro setting of a post apocalyptic world is one that seems very real. Claustrophobic tunnels, threats around every corner, mankind devolving and still war everwhere. Metro puts the 'grit' back in 'gritty'

@smhxjd2 I'm playing right now (on hardcore difficulty with no crossair) and I have to say that I partially agree with you. The inclusion of stealth as a possibility was great, but it was badly executed. If they can manage to fix both the collision system and the AI (to make it better in firefights and more rational in stealth, ie not sounding the alarm for the slightest mistake you make and especially NOT giving you away when you hit them twice) it could be very good. I trust these guys!

@ChanceReed If you read the book you would understand. These are "The Fourth Recih", and while they are heavily inspired by Hitler and such, they are russians that fight to make RUSSIA a nationalist country. I think it's cleverly executed in the game. If you listen carefully (I'm playing it in russian with english subs, don't know about english dubbing) they use a lot of german words here and there. It's a nice touch that really captures their (extremely confused as the author states) culture.

Wierdly enough, that's why I loved the stealth system. It was realistic that if you made a mistake while trying to get through the frontlines of two highly paranoid factions that if you the slightest mistake, you would pay for it with your life.

@pigeggs1 Yeah that's true and I have to say that I'm not the best at stealth xD. But most of the times the reasons for the sounding of the alarm were illogical and they went berzerk for nothing. Also I didn't like that you could be spotted anywhere after the first time. That said I have been playing on xBox 360 (I have a MAC, so no Pc version). I know that they released a patch that fixed things.

@pigeggs1 Agreed. Watch SpartaWolf's hardcore ranger gameplay to see how the game should be played. Every encounter in 2033 required contemplation which made it a proper survival/thriller/horror game. How many enemies are there? Am I concealed properly on my stealth meter? Are there any light sources nearby I can take out? How many filters do I have left? How much Amo do I have left? Is my gas mask cracked? Is there glass nearby? Are there trip wires nearby? Proper survival stuff.
