@ikbenonfire sometimes it cant be helped, if newfies want to do something they WiLL do it.. trust me.. ive but a bed in front of the stairs, he pulled it away, put planks of wood on the stairs hed jump around it... even put a baby gate on the stairs he goes under it ive even put a plank and the baby gate on the stairs.. he still manages it..
@amirjon He's 3 years old now and about 150 lbs. There are couple in town that are over 200 lbs, they make my pup look small. One lady has an elephant that she dresses in a wig and calls it a "newfie", but she's not fooling anyone. Everyone can see the elastic chinstrap. :)
@VAJOWLES 150 is a good size. ive seen one (gizmo) thats 180+...i love the breed just cant handle drool or am not used to it..ive getting a another bernese that should be around 140pounds and my current one is 105male.. maybe in a few years i welcome a brown or black newfoundland
YA as some are commenting here, you dont want a newfy going up and down the stairs till about 1 years of age +, could cause problems :)

Never ever let a puppy newf walk down stairs, or do any stairs..or jump out of a car!!!
They are Extremely fragile until 1 year old at least...limit long walks, and prefer playing on the grass.

These dogs are awesome, they pretty much own most other dogs in a fight. I saw one tear apart a malamute a while ago.
