It's emulation! I think I was emulating NTSC, which runs at 60fps, so if you originally played it on a PAL system (50fps), this version would be faster.
Haha, it does! They're both by Frank Cohen, so I guess it was easier for him to use the same sounds. The bassline on the title screen music is very similar, too!
this game is a bit of a mystery, when you get to the later levels you suddenly come up against one that is swimmingly impossible, i and my friend have been going back to this game since its release originally on the C64, and still cant get past it or find any information about it online.
This game would have been SO much easier if it weren't for the optical illusion of a third dimension. Compare to Ghost Chaser, for instance). Wanna see what I looked like playing Ollie's Follies? Do a search for "Angry German Kid" and turn your speakers up real loud.
I want to thank you for posting the video of this game and your comments. It's a treat to know that this work lives on. -Frank Cohen, Author of Ollie's Follies
Hi Frank, I really enjoy some of the games you've made.
I have the game 'Scooter' which you can see me talk about on my channel.
Could you explain what a lot of the things mean in the game, like for example what is the character picking up? The instructions really don't seem to explain anything, apart from giving you the story.
Another blast from the past. I remember this game being very hard to master because of the difficulties in getting Ollie to get moving, and then stop.
absolument mythique ! ! ! Comme la plupart des jeux sur Atari ^_^

Is this emulation or the real thing? It's kinda faster than my version.

The protagonist looks like the mail-boy from cohen's towers and even jumps the same! Not surprising seeing how they were made by the same developer

Reminds me of Beer Brew Biz or whatever it was called on the C64

Never played this game, but it has the same sounds as Ghost Chaser, also from Fanda which I use to own for my Atari 800XL !

Yeah, he had a really awkward kind of inertia that I could never really get the hang of. Possibly due to eating too many pies.

shigeru miyamoto basically ripped this off when he made the first mario games. FACT.
