  • nothing but "amanda palmer in oddville" with no sound for 4:57.

  • @hjpieman heh, when I read that I thought it was that she flipped out at that moment in the video, but it turns out that it's actually just a fukn stupid silent sign for the whole clip...=/

  • My ukelele is actually signed by Amanda!

  • Anyone else check out the new evelyn, evelyn record? It was produced by Amanda and I can't stop listening to it!

  • @zavalael It was performed by her too! along with jason webley!

  • I sure would like this video to work again. It hasn't played properly in months though.

  • Does anyone know what happened to this video? I would really like to be able to watch it again, even if it is on a for-pay site.

  • @ScottAtwood or anyone else looking to get this clip to work, it seems to be available at ?v=HjxNgf-korg

  • oddville is odd

  • Why isn't it working???

  • @DamnedMissDisaster

    Well there's this.

    watch?v=HjxNgf-korg

  • she`s wonderful!!

  • not working for me either!!

  • Is the vid not playing for anyone else?

    Just says ODDVILLE

  • Thank you! I was wondering if it was just my computer being screwy or what...

  • is she using a pick of some sort?? i'm curious because i'm trying to play this on my uke...

  • Yes, she is. There's picks specially made for ukes, they're a bit softer than the normal ones.

  • no picks needed ...just finger strum it

  • CREEP IS CREEP...

  • great!

  • this is the proof that this song sounds perfect in every way u wanna play it. Even if the performance sucks!

  • absolutely cool!!! :)

  • great voice, great song!!! awesome amanda, muy buena interpretacion!!!!

  • MLF!!!

  • que le cambien el ukelele por unos toc toc. Por hacerse la minimalista está haciendo una ridiculez. Que se dedique a escribir una canción propia.

    APESTAS AMANDA

    AMANDA YOU SUCKS

  • "Amanda you Sucks" ???

    aeart you SUCK!

    but you don't "Sucks"

  • @fibrilas Y...... ?

  • fantastica voz...

  • Greaat|

  • Kitsch version. Tacky.

  • I love this!!!

  • OMG she is the man!!!

  • an interesting version ..

  • Utterly beautiful.

  • How can a song be butchered. The person who's singing presents it as a part of them. We cover songs because they touch us in some way. Not to imitate or ape another persons version. Creep is a universal song that Amanda handles with real power. A+ version.

  • philistine... Amanda is epic in every direction.

  • she's wearing something formal... what's wrong...

  • love it!

  • Can't get my uke to make that slap noise

  • LOVE. Amanda Palmer + Ukelele +Creep = amazing.

  • @voxiphiliac Amanda Palmer= Amazinngg whatever she does ;)

  • Oh my god, awesome.

  • bwahahah she's crazy in a good awesome way. love how she says "whatthahellamidoinghere??" the first time lol.

  • I love her, and I want her dress!

  • SHE IS AWESOME.

Would've taken so much courage to do something like this. It's inspirational.

  • Amanda is a true iconoclast. Whenever she covers a song, its completely original and she makes it entirely her own.

  • Amanda has the most incredible voice

  • She was ROCKIN' with that Uke!

  • woo fav rockband song ......and maps and yea if we uploaded us playing it on youtube it would be switched to another song /dum or muted ....go amanda woo!!!!!

  • Reminds me a lot of Chrissie Hynde...always a good thing.

  • so fucken EPIC.

  • I really liked her rendition, though I wish there were was a way she could have put larger dynamics during the choruses. Anymore and she would've broke her ukulele. =P

  • I see your point but to me this is one of those songs that get bad when you over sing it. Much like the pretenders version it has it's own charm to it. I have seen an ameture version on you tube where the girl had a wonderful voice but was over singing so much i couldn't watch it.

  • Well I don't think Amanda should have changed her vocals. I thought they were top notch, particularly during the "She's running out" part of the song. What I meant was that in the original there is very thick distortion so Amanda's version stuck me a bit flat on those grounds. What I think would have been cool for her to have is some percussion and trumpets like in "Leeds United". I think that would have fit nicely.

  • Now i agree with you on that note. Sometimes the imperfection is the perfection! brass istruments arent really my thing but to each his own. I think she is great either way.

  • Well generally I despise brass instruments...just for whatever reason it seems like it would've been a good idea here. I dunno. In either case I liked this enough that I downloaded the MP3 the first time I heard it.

  • I'd love to get to know her. She seems cool.

  • I love her so...

    ;_;

  • very weird on the ukelele, but amazing!! I love you amanda!

  • un-cocking-believable! Sweet as a nut!xxx

  • she does this way better than radiohead...

    i love her...

  • She is a cool freak!

  • this is so charming.

  • She is awesome!! :)

  • Fabulous! awesome voice! woooow [:O)

  • WOW excellent voice, excellent cover.

  • Celebrate the Drag Queen makeup!

  • I LOVE Amanda Palmer, and this straight up gives me chills!! She is so freaking amazing!! I was so excited to see there was a free download of it!! Awesome!!

  • Amanda you are so fantastic! fucking amazing!

Please, come to Brazil one day!

  • She does this song way better and all she needs is a ukulele.

  • Awesome I love it! :)

  • Beautiful voice. I love this.

  • yea the crowd doesnt give her enuff credit they must not know who she is theyre not used to da amanda palmer dat we all kno and love

  • It was funny as hell when she did the guitar god posture and did the Johnny Greenwood gun-shotesque noise at 1:40.

I agree, too quiet. I would have liked a little more laughter on that.

  • I love it when she sings this song. i love her so much.

  • Cre-e-eep! what a great performance:))

  • i like how she got everyone to sing at the end. That gave me chills

  • only amanda palmer can pull off a creep cover and make u wonder if it was her song to begin with.

  • Did someone die?

Freaking quiet.... would expect some other sounds than just her and the ukulele... kinda creeped me out *wink

I think this was a sweet cover. Kinda cute in a way....

  • i'd like to hear her sing the reckoner

  • normally i'm not a fan of people doing covers of radiohead, just because the vocals have such a distinct quality to them (plus they're one of my most favorite bands EVER). but i have to say she really respected the material but she made it her own.

well done, miss palmer. you may sing radiohead any day. btw the ukelele was a nice twist. :D

  • I love you Amanda! :) please come to the Czech republic or at least Europe soon

  • she is amazing

  • I LOVE this version. Amanda is amazing!

  • GAH!!! Too delicious, I tell you what.

  • One of my favorite songs and one of my favorite people, love the ukulele. Heard her live last night and the ukulele sounded great!

  • lol, if I ever went to a concert and the singer said she's going to cover radiohead with just an ukelele i'd probably laugh at her face, but this rocks! she's brave lol yeah, she's so fucking special!

  • one word. AMAZING.

  • this is too cool!

    this song!

    the ukelele!

    and amanda palmer!

  • The other covers she does that also bring me close to tears are "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead - try to find the one of her in a record store in Maine - it's so delicate and raw. And see if you can find her "I'll Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie .- it was on her myspace page .. so sad and yet so very beautiful. And if she ever plays near you, risk it and go see her ... she made me realize how many bands play like there isn't an audience out there in front of them ...

  • I am so glad that Amanda Palmer

is alive! She is so great, she is truly

    unique and awesome.

    This cover is mesmerizing!

I can't stop listening to it.

  • So... that was definitely Hitler in a dress. I love Amanda.

  • YEAH GO AMANDA PALMER!

  • Excuse me?

    its just a cover :)

  • Plus, as far as I heard, Radiohead asks artists to make their _own_ version of "Creep". Moby mentioned that when he covered it live on stage.

  • how is this disrespecting radiohead? its amandas own interpretation, its unique, different and fucking awesome! and personally id like to see you do better

  • the word 'awful' is an apinion. so, get over urself, u might not like it but a lot op people do.

and, I don't think Radiohead minds.

  • Disrespect? Are you the official rep of Radiohead? I think this song is well done considering its done a ukulele.

  • wonderfully brilliant

  • Go-geous, I'd rather hear this come from Amanda's ukulele than Oasis's guitar any day. So pretty and strangely touching.

  • she makes me think of Phoebe from friends

  • LOVE HER <3

  • Η amanda palmer ειναι καταπληκτικη!!!!!! χαιρομαι που την ακουν και μερικοι Ελληνες

  • Amanda Palmer makes me quiver. She is absolutely glorious.

  • Golly G-spot. I f*cking love Amanda Palmer, but this is f*cking hardcore to the max of the extreme. Well, not TOTALLY, but it's still pretty f*cking awesome.

That is DOWN like a clown (once it has been drugged and shot).

  • Fuck she's awesome. How long did she hold that note on "run"?

    at least 12 seconds. goddam

  • This gave me chills.

    So good.

  • God damn, she is amazing.

  • *CLICK CLICK*

    xD

    i love this song. she's a godess

  • this is hauntingly beautiful. I had no idea the ukele could sound so good!

  • this woman. i don't have the words to describe.

  • amazing :D

  • who the crap are you?

  • The scream part is just amazing, love it.

  • i luv amanda she deos this great.. i luv the chords b4 the chorus i luv creep by radioheadi n general so i was like =D

  • I love this cover, actually i pretty much love all of her covers better than the original song. her and brian should come out with a cd of all these wonderful cover songs for real

  • You can download a fair amount of them from the dresden dolls' website :)

  • This amazing woman never ceases to amaze me. Her voice is dead on perfect for the song and her dynamics are fantastic.

    Go, you Ukulele playing goddess!!!

  • Well, she usually plays the piano.

  • (To irvingjohn) Amanda Palmer is, admittedly, still learning the ukulele, and self-taught. I saw her show in Carrboro, N.C., March 29. She told the audience the only song she knows how to play on ukulele is "Creep," but then corrected herself and said she's now written two of her own; then, proceeded to play one of her compositions. Bear in mind this is a woman who never learned to read a musical score. She composes her own songs (and plays some very interesting covers) essentially "by ear."

  • What chords is she playing?

  • I saw her perform this live in Dublin, and she was in the middle of the audience with the ukelele, and no microphone. And everyone sang along.

It was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced, it was really wonderful.

  • Amazing artist..

  • this makes my little heart smile X)

  • radiohead is great.

the fact that it was amanda that did this song makes it greater.

(even though it's the most overrated song in the universe of music)

  • she does this song so much fuckin justice

    she's so pretty . i love her.

  • and months before this Ingrid Michaelson rapped Will Smith's Fresh Prince of Belair rap, was she the first person to do that too?

Palmer has been performing this song for quite some time. But, it is a cover so there is no point into questioning originality of it - it's a debate that can go on past Michaelson and Palmer.

  • Amanda has been doing Radiohead covers on Ukulele for years now. This wasn't the first time she performed this particular song on ukulele.

  • i love her

  • <3

    genious.

  • I wish everyone'd stop taking this so seriously, she's just being her whimsical self.

  • Many years ago a particularly large friend of mine played a particularly small ukulele whilst performing a hugely funny deadpan rendition of "Le Freak". Not till this video have I ever seen something to match the sheer genius of it... Love it!

  • Love it.....

  • Ever since my first Troy Fernandez CD I wanted to learn the Uke but never did :- (

  • whys that that man dressed like hitler in a dress?

  • 'cause it's oddville

  • This made me cry.

I fucking LOVE you Amanda Palmer.

You are so amazing it's almost unbearable.

    She's beautiful.

  • i can do this now =]

  • o yeah... i'm sure you have. but you obviously don't know amanda palmer. don't dis her musical abilities and the ukulele.

  • MimiSweden, this is a Radiohead song, not Muse, although both Muse and Radiohead are amazing...

  • I looove this so much.

  • I love Amanda Palmer and Muse. So I'm completely in love with this song. :)

  • Weird, but I wouldn't expect anything but the oddest from Mme. Palmer.
