  • 9mm. Your better using a kitchen knife! Get a shot gun or 357 or stronger!

  • what happens when you shoot an intruder and he dies jw

  • You guys have RUGER p95's... you don't need spare parts LOL

  • shot gun

  • similar mechanism to the beretta 92 FS, I actually really like the safety

  • its a ok i got a p90 in forty cal. its top heavy and straight out to heavy. good gun though. but wouldnt be my first choice. ammo plus gun in a .45 ill go with a 1911 with all that weight.

  • GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK

  • @richie8811 A glock is a great gun but it is not even close to the only choice. There are many many guns on the market that has taken the good things from the glock and improved on it greatly. s&w, cz, xd, walther, sig, colt ect ect. All are great guns. All are just as reliable.

  • Mossberg 18.5" barrel 12 gauge shotgun $300 + tax. If you think you can get better home defense on a budget than that you're retarded.

  • thank god you said ruger p95 and not hi point. Of course someone who wants to have a one gun for home defense and never shoot it should get a revolver, used S&W model 10 would do.

  • Gross ass boat anchor Ruger P series. Get an M&P.

  • Great pistol, Great price. Great features. Nuff said.

  • best home defense is judge public defender. 5 .410 shells to pepper. dont think youll have to reload.

  • What do the MOST active and observed Defensive Shooter Schools; Law Enforcement agencies; Military PDW Systems, use for Weapons across this great nation? you can get a "Perfect Home Defense Weapon"

  • In the u.k I can only use a knife lol

  • P95 great and safe gun. Don't run out of ammo, so you have to share. Buy more 9mm ammo its still fairly cheap. Another great video. Well done! Now that we all have. P95s Lets go shooting!

  • sounds like you guys are preparing for a burglar apocalypse

  • @dynastyflygon dun dun dun

  • My main home defense gun - Remington 870 12ga. w/.00buckshot. Police have used it to take care of bad guys for decades. Good enough for them, good enough for me.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI I personally prefer the FEG HUNGARY P9RK 9 mm the are very nice looking and very accurate.

  • Great vid guys, alot of good info. But with anything that compares handguns without glorifying Glock, the comments naturally seem to come into play about Glock being better. I own a Glock 27 .40, I think its a fine pistol. But in terms of home defense, my 1911 is on my nightstand and my Mossberg 500 is sitting in the corner. Personal defense, the Glock fit the bill in terms of size, reliablity, comfort and familiarity within price range. I think the P95 would also fit the bill perfectly.

  • that ruger p 95 spit fire cuzz.....i love it

  • lol if your a revolver guy im sure a 44 magnum would do the trick. but the 9mm is just to small in my opinion. the typical argument for it is that even though it's small you can carry more rounds but i think it would be a lot better to fire one instead of taking the time to have to go ahead and fire multiple rounds. i like the 40 s&w or 45acp. 40 s&w is bigger and can still allow you to carry many rounds while the 45acp is bigger and is a proven bullet. again this is just my opinion.

  • Cool video. And you give all that great information about the gun. Excellent!

  • @Survive2Day Thanks for posting the video. Where can I get spare parts for the P95?

  • I own a glock 19 (GEn 4), a Beretta 92 FS, a Beretta Px4 Storm chambered in 40 Cal and a Sig sauer 220 (45 ACP) and to be honest the glock is my only regret because I had it jammed on me so many times. Both my Glock 19 and beretta Px4 storm (40 cal) cost the same and thr trigger pull and accuracy on my berretta is just sweet

  • Great demonstration of the pistol. I bought one about two years ago and it is a great pistol. I like my glocks and my sig as well...but the Ruger is very accurate and it is very broke in and I would trust it.

  • Good video, you obviously researched your weapon. As good as they may be for "home defense" my first choice is always going to be a shotgun.

  • The grips Are HUGE On The p95, reason Im Dumped mine, very Uncomfortable

  • Be prepared to live the way people used to live 100 years ago, learn survival skills urban and forest enviroment. we all might need to.

  • okay, this is your vid, you did great, but just a few suggestions. Have you ever looked into Pistolchambered carbines? They're dead accurate, and fairly cheap. Take hi point's 995. A little over 200 off sale. Or Kel-tec's sub 2k (it will accept glock magazines for your glocktards=)). that runs about 300. Its also got the intimidation factor (much larger than a pistol). Whether .22 or .454, I guess at least you're protected.

  • get the mindset....

  • good video gentlemen

  • great vid guys love them all i think the Remington 870 Express Youth 20ga is one gun that has been over looked by a lot of people. i realize that this vid was about home defense and hand guns but that said the youth 870 in 20ga should not be over looked size, weight, ease of use by anyone from child to adult, low recoil for smaller shooters and also helps in getting back on target after shot, with mag tube extensions and many more customizations ,and reliability that isnt surpassed by any

  • For home defense 12g shotgun. Always has been always will be. good vid guys.

  • ruger i

way better than glock and my sig i love to

  • ruger i

way better than glock and my sig

  • sig sauer is the best in my opinion

  • I love Ruger and Sigma and M&P. I have glocks but i really dont like them as much. The Gen4 is the worst gun ever made next to the Hi Point. I always tell people the Gen 4 is the new Hi Point.

  • You dont have to openly slam other people's guns.Have you ever actually shot one? I used to slam them constantly till a buddy let me borrow his. Its actually pretty solid, and if i only had 100 to spend, id pick up a used hi point. They're not nearly as bad as people make them out to be. One could arm their entire family compared to the cost of one glock. If you ignored the price, then yes, it is pretty bad. But you can't throw it into the same class as your glock. 2 different wave lengths.

  • I had one of these guns.I was my first gun and it did fine, was cheap, well made, didnt like wolf ammo but shot everything else.Sold it a few years back for what i paid for it new. I like glocks better, but this gun is just dandy.

  • i still belive the best home defence gun is the 12ga pump action shotgun and if your inside your home bird shot would be great to use

  • @geraldb4201 winchester defender shotgun

  • HOME defense on a BUDGET? If I had to choose, I'd choose a 12 gauge shotgun (personally, I like the mossberg 590). A handgun is certainly useful for concealed carry outside your own home, but inside your home, I don't think one can beat the devastation or the intimidation a shotgun causes.

  • @Pill88Dickle wrong..tons of spare parts on the ruger website and brownells for the ruger p 95..dont be biased bro..i have glocks but they arent the only guns out with tons of parts being available

  • Nice video. I own and love my Ruger p95. I'm not a gun snob, tho.

  • Since Glocks are the most likely-owned pistols around, at least learn how to operate a Glock ( you may happen to "find" one when things get real bad). Also, I think that .45 and 9mm are becoming less popular than the .40, so, maybe .40 would be a better choice of a semi-auto pistol since the ammo-find probability will be better!

  • so i cant decide for my first carry, and defense and saftey hand gun, the p95 or the sigma 9mm?

  • @breezyatv90 The Ruger is a far superior weapon. In reliability, ease of use and durability. It is also way easier to get magazines and accessories.

  • @breezyatv90 sr9c bro

  • Hey guys. I agree 100%. I purchased mine in about 1996. I have never experienced a stovepipe. I have shot many, many rounds through this firearm. However, my wife and eleven year old son did have some stove pipes. After studying their shooting, I discovered that they were absorbing the recoil. They now shoot our 38 hammerless Taurus and S+W. I have several other Rugers and my next firearm will be a Ruger.

  • sorry u guys get such negative comments. my moma told me u don't have some thing nice to say don't say anything. I think on u tube it should be if u don't have some thing construtive to say.....

  • m57 yugo tokarev 200 dollars...more powerful than a 357 but with the kick of a 9mm...the reliable action of the high power...or the nagant revolver for 99 dollars...one of the only revolver that can acccept a silencer...sorry.i dont like plastic pistols.im 16 and into old school.

  • @mrantihippie you may get the gun cheap but ammo is gonna give you the middle finger anywhere from 25 to 30$ for a box of 50 lol and thats winchester white box. i would have to look but with a 85 grain bullet im not sure i would believe its more powerful than a 357.

  • Austrian, Italian, Who gives a Rats Butt. Geeze if your that anal over your Glock, you really need to get a life. Maybe some psych help as well. Ive owned one Glock and did not like it. Didnt like the feel. So that makes me a moron? Or because I didnt give a crap about the alphabet euro trash origins?

  • I dont like glocks so i bought a ruger.

  • @jacobschmidt51 Damn fine weapons. I own three.

  • I wouldn't own a glock if it was given to me, a friend of mine has one and after fireing a few rounds the front sight came loose

  • 3 people are robbers who got raped by pistols

  • Buying a Ruger, which is a very reliable and well buolt pistol over the Glock is supporting an American Company over an Italian Company. Plus a Glock costs a couple of hundred dollars more. Plus I dont think someone looking down the end of a barrel cares whether its a Ruger or a Glock. Paying more doesnt make you a better shooter either.

  • My brother and I both bought USP 9mms years ago. He still has his. I have a Sig P226, but I think the idea of interchangeability within your circle of go to friends is a fine idea.

  • I was looking at the price of replacement parts for my carry pistol, and when I added them up, I just bought a second pistol for close to the same price.

Plus, if you are forced to use your handgun in self defense, the police will sometimes take your handgun as evidence, so you might need that backup.

  • Ruger is a good handgun. I personally carry the P345, as my CC. As for home defense, nothing beats a 12 ga with 00 buck shot. Point and squeeze, note I didn't say aim!

And YES, some Glock folks are nuts. Handgun brand is a preference thing and an economical thing. I prefer Ruger because it is an American company.

  • American Made = easyer to get parts and better costomer servise Made in Italy or Australia, or Germany means 5 calls 3 weeks waiting for them to FIX your weapon then another 3 days waiting for it to be shiped back to you.

  • @Pill88Dickle Must we hear glock on every video that doesn't feature the glock? This isn't a nutnfaggy video...

  • @aaronscrewme YES< GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK G GLOCK GLOCK GLOCKLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK

  • @pentogram23 AHAHAHHAH!

  • For spare parts availability/cost, reliability track record, and price, You can get sold on one of the many recent polymer framed pistols that appear to be solid guns, or you can make your life simple and just get the ubiquitous Glock they are all copying. Simple, solid , reliable, hundreds of broken in police guns available for <$400, every cop friend is familiar with it, fewer parts to break, no external safety, Easy to train a new shooter, hard to break and easy to fix.

  • Excellent!! Review thanks.

  • If you want a Good, Reliable, Semi-auto Non Striker-fire Handgun, Check out the FNP 45 & the CZ P-07 (40 Cal) Or any of the CZ Family Series.

  • And for all the Glock snobs out there, there are a ton of guns just as good as Glock. These Rugers are fine, American made polymer guns. I own one (as well as 2 Glocks) and my Ruger has never malfunctioned once and is also more accurate than the Glock. Don't get me wrong, have nothing against Glock at all, they are extremely durable, affordable and reliable however there are other guns that are just as good and I don't like the Glock snobs who look down on others cuz they don't have Glock.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI glocks are pretty much bulletproof when it comes to reliability. i used to be a glock only person until i started trying other guns. i became a huge fan of the springfield xdm (my favorite gun now). just order the ruger p95. looking forward to getting it. hope to have it 2mrw

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI That's the 3rd reason I refuse to buy from glock. Their disciples are absolutely crazy. It's almost a cult. It's a form of sheep psychology that I will have no part of.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Im not trying to be in anyway against you, but when you say one gun is more accurate than another its not true. Its the sights, person, and round you use. A bullet will go as straight as you point it.

  • @Thebikeguy133 Not true at all, sorry. Nice try. A lot of people like to try and say that but many things about different guns can affect accuracy. Including sights, you just said that yourself... are sights not a part of the gun?

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI They are but its how you adjust them. Im not gonna start a whole war on it, but say you put aftermarket sights on it and hold the gun in a vice and pin point exactly where the round will hit while looking through the sights. Then in that case the gun is indeed as accurate as you can hold it. Its the shooter not the gun.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI have to disagree, ive shot the p95 and i dont think its as accurate, but every gun will be a little bit different.Glock is what i prefer to use and carry but if i had the money id probably carry an HK. I like ruger and the p95 but if i dropped that p95 into a big pile of dirt and gunk, i wouldnt feel good about shooting it until it was cleaned. With the glock, i wouldnt feel right shooting it unless i jammed even more dirt and grease in their first,

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI ...Agreed about gun snobs in general. However the whole statement about one handgun being more accurate is donkey poo. It is about 90% shooter to 10% firearm.

  • @1911GreaterThanALL You can't tell me that guns don't have anything to do with accuracy.. people like to say "oh it's all the shooter".. no, it's not. I don't know the exact percentage and you shouldn't pull false stats like "oh it's 90% shooter and 10% firearm" you don't know that and if so link proof of those stats.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI yeah i gotta side with 1911 on this one.. im sure both are accurate, but it's whos hand its in..and as far as more accurate than glocks..you dont see top shooters in IDPA using mostly p series rugers do you?..or police/military forces outfitted with them..cuz honestly, they're inferior..they're heavier, lower capacity weapons..they're just not of the same quality.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI It is fact that most, if not all pistols are more accurate than you're ability to shoot at combat/self defense distance. It IS mostly the shooter, now some guns are easier to shoot than others i.e. better sights more ergonomic, lighter, heavier pick your differences but there all accurate enough for self defense.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Generally speaking when people talk about accuracy with a firearm it is in ideal and set conditions. If it is shot from ransom rest it takes all the skill of the shooter from play. Also the amount of accuracy needed to score a hit at range is decreasingly useful the closer you are from a target. I challenge ANYONE to post a video or even a reply back to this to see where my logic and life experience is flawed.

  • @1911GreaterThanALL I agree. I can shoot well enough with a hi-point with no problem.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI I agree if you look on my channel I actually did a video on my p95 as well, but as far as the accuracy of the p95 vs the glock I would have to say you got a really nice p95 because I have been competing for 11 years and I can shoot a glock better than the p95 even though I can hold 4 inch groupings at 35 yards with the p95 I can stay more consistent with the glock. For the money I would choose a p95 over a glock, but if I was to choose between the two I would go with a glock17

  • GO GLOCK 9mm the best of the best.

  • @pentogram23 Glock is definitaly not the best 9mm

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI thats my opinion just like you have yours.......i stick to GLOCK and thats it..

  • @pentogram23 Yeah, Glock is a great gun. I am just curious, have you shot any other handguns and if so which ones?

  • @pentogram23 You can't get glasses to fix that kind of myopia.

  • is it alloy steel thing or stainless steel what ur choice of it ?

  • I wanted my Brother to get a P95 like me for this same idea, well he got a Px4 storm so its also very similar.

  • I own both! I've got the Ruger P95 and I've got a Glock 26 (The Baby Glock). I use them for different purposes but I love them both equally! The Glock 26 in my opinion is the best CC pistol on the Market.

  • Great gun AND review guys....Bought the lcp a few months back and love it, bought the p95 today and love it more...why the p95 instead of a glock? Im a huge Ruger fan.....The P95 just feels better in my hands....I like to be a little different, eveyones got a glock...its HALF the price of a glock...and most importantly its 100% AMERICAN! I believe everyone should TRY to buy American, the job you save may be your own!

  • I do not like the trigger travle of this gun....way to far! the 9mm over penatrates vs the 1911 .45 ...more damage . comments gents ?

  • @Pill88Dickle Well, actually, my brother and I have already stocked some spare parts. By both of us having the same weapon, that made spare parts stocking cheaper and easier.

  • Are you two step brothers?

  • Taurus pt92 or 99 rock solid 9mm and great for zombies.

  • what do you think about the ruger p89 ?

  • @Jtactoo One of the best guns ever made.

  • My P95 quite a bit as well... so much so that I don't consider it reliable as a self-defense weapon. Obviously under ideal conditions, you can compensate for the mechanics of the gun, but in a real hostile situation you just shoot what you can manage, and that may include a non-ideal stance and grip. I still have the gun, and I like the way it shoots besides that, but I won't use it for self-defense.

  • i wonder if glock has a department of employees purely dedicated to bad mouthing every other gun out there. first off, different people like, are accustomed to, and for the most part better off with whatever gun they are most comfortable with, especially if its for home defense or ccw. secondly, there are lots more guns that IMO and many others that are better than glocks, that includes a lot of 1911s up to other polymer pistols. I personally prefer my beretta PX4 storm over any glock any day!

  • get over the Glock, not everuone likes them, i like my sig P250, they like ther ruger

to each there own, do not like glocks

  • P95 is an OUTSTANDING GUN. 700+ rounds and NO malfunctions NONE!! $350 new! Ruger is built like a TANK!!!

  • Trade the P-95's in for Glocks! the whole weapon is made from only 35 parts, which lowers the chance of malfunctions and jams. Models also have a lot of common parts which are interchangeable. Also can work with many of the parts missing. Also cleaning is all ways good but not an issue if you don't.

  • A 9 will go through walls, people, metal etc, I like a shotgun with bird shot.

  • I am not a "One gun to rule them all person". Nothing wrong with a Ruger. Your standardization ideas are what we have followed. We chose glock and other weapons we felt inspired to go with.

  • I've had a couple of the P series Rugers and they are fine guns. The P85 and P89 that I owned were the most reliable pistols that I've ever seen (yes, more than Glock...get over it).

With that said I wouldn't pick this gun as my go to gun for defense if I could afford something better. The trigger generally sucks on these guns, they are very bulky and I don't like SA/DA handguns for self defense.

This is a very good handgun (especially for the price) but there are better pistols out there.

  • You did not sell me on the P 95 as the Perfect 9mm Home Defense Weapon. A $100 savings on home protection is a very false economy & a poor reason to make a choice. It's fine to like a gun, but calling it perfect is far from accurate. Stove piping is a very good reason NOT to get it....

  • great videos guys. thanks.

  • Wow do people really believe they are going to kill that many people! OMG

  • I own one of these and I have never had a misfire with a ruger magazine. If you buy a cheap hi-capacity mag it will give you fits. But many ranges will use these as their "rent-a-pistol" and for training classes due to it's medium size and reliability. They can be full of dirt and will fire all day long. For the glock lovers, I see their point but I'm not paying $550+ for a pistol in today's world. Plus glocks don't fit my hand as well. To each his own, I love my P95.

  • BTW Great plain talk review,,, the best kind!

  • Hey,,,, Don't blame your brother!!! LOL

  • It s what you shoot the best!!! I personally dont like double/single action guns. I have the CZ sp-01 and the problems are the double action 1st shot is less accurate for me. Also a big draw back is finding a good gun smith. Although CZ is popular I traded it in for a G17. I had a learning curve to over come, I like revolvers, 1911's but it was the simplest choice for a family member to use if something happened to me. Ruger makes a very good product. I just dont like double/single action guns

  • how is this to protect me from nuclear fallout ?

  • @stymye Well, I guess it would come in handy if you are safe in your basement Fallout Shelter and you hear nuclear contaminated zombies banging at the door trying to get into your house and bring their radiation-contaminated selves in to endanger your family ......

  • @stymye dont be a douche

  • Can't go wrong with a Ruger. Any gun now a days is a great choice, its all a matter of personal preference and application.

  • Good idea man

  • Good for you. I had a Ruger P94DAO and hated it. Whatever you feel comfortable with.

I am also a Glock guy. I'd take used police trade in Glock 22 for $350 any day over a brand new Ruger 95 for the same price. That being said, I am a strong believer in 9mm, so good choice there.

Of course you know it has a hammer/striker, right. It may not be exposed, but something has to set off those primers ;)

Also the terminology is double action/single action for the heavy and light trigger. Doubl

  • good vid i love ruger arms

  • Good idea in weapon standardization...But...imho--Im a big fan of the XDM .40 S&W. 16+1, 1911 grip2barrel angle, match grade barrel, and UBER ergonomic...Its a 700.00 pistol...but ya get what ya pay for in this case...Thanks for the vid though--

  • @Jeenyus1983 PS---the XDM has that interchangable backstrap for small, medium, and large hands. comes in 9mm,40s&w, and 45acp. theres also a 357 sig conversion as well...Just my 2 cents...

  • Great laymans review IMO. I am a glock guy by nature, carry a M&P at work, but see no fault at all in the ruger P95. Owned a couple in the past, and although not my first choice, they are lower-priced, reliable and have practical accuracy. Handguns (weapons in general) are very individual, and as long as you pick something in a major caliber from a reputable manufacturer you really can't go wrong. Appreciate your videos.

  • good video

  • Also... a glock would be less likely to snag, WAY easier to operate (as easy as a revolver), it has constant trigger pull and in the same price range. To the point of standardezation... do you think there are more rugers or more 9mm glocks out there?... and which do you think there are more parts available for (hint... its not the gun they have). Dont get me wrong... its a cool piece and a great gun. I just think for the reasons you guys outlined logically it was not the right decision. Cheers.

  • @garzac7815 I hear you, but the P95 is $100 less than a Glock. Although my brother Ed is rich (ha!), I have 5 kids, so that extra $100 is a lot for me.

  • @garzac7815 not trying to be a jerk but there are many, many other weapons other than glock that make a great HD or shitf weapons, and not any one weapon is foolproof. owner of xd,hipoint, marlin, rommy ak,mosin's,mossey, and others not one glock they are just to small for my hands, and are way to picky like a fine swiss watch. If you need to rebuild your one gun you need to buy more guns.

  • @4302BC I get what you are saying. I just feel that with the constraints seth forth by them (and yes... I understand the ruger was 100 dollars less) in the end a glock might have been a better option from a point of view of interchangeability of mags, parts, slides, standardization... and overall the wide availability of parts and accesories that are available. By the way... all guns are fool proof... but no fool is gun-proof.

  • @garzac7815 no fool is gun-proof, love it. :)

  • It seems to be that if you wanted a reliable, polymer, railed, hand-gun for which there is a ton of parts around... why would you not get a glock 19 or 17?... just a thought.

  • @garzac7815 Cost. The Glock is $100 more... Also, if there are any other good reasons to go with the Glock, then I blame my brother Ed, since he bought the Ruger first! :)

  • @Survive2Day , glock 9mm takes 33rd mags.... nuff said, oh and a glock 17 mag costs like 25 bucks, the 33rd mag costs like 35-40... well worth the extra money, IF you live in a state that isnt dumb with mag bans ect........

  • Comment removed

  • @Survive2Day blame the brother, love the glock you can slide the rallies on and off for different calibers so long as they are the same size. But yes, round compatiblity is big. In my group, we got .308 (for me), 7.62x54R for parents, .40 glock for me. 9mm and .40 for him with glock, ar 15 5.56 for him, .38 revolver for the parents. Opps, we broker that compatiblity rule in my "team" :-)

  • @garzac7815 Ruger made in the U S A

  • @fcvjr fair enough. If that is your reason then I respect it. If you want to trust your life to something just because it is made in the USA... go for it... Ill stick with the one you can beat the hell out of and still have it work.

  • @garzac7815 ruger is made in AMERICA nuff said

  • Thank you for the review. I have been in the market for a new set of 9mm's for myself and wife. What direction is the ejection? My little Walther p22 looks the same as that, but ejects up down sideways, and is rather annoying. There is nothing more distracting than hot brass going down your shirt.

  • Good video guys. You do a good job of talking about the significant benefits of standardizing.

  • I have that gun and it has NEVER jammed on me, also have two 32 rd mags for it...looks like a mini uzi! =-D

  • Love the ruger! What are your thoughts on picking up a used Glock at that price point?

  • @k1111117 glocks are great weapons if you can afford it, glocks are not cheap, over priced IMO.

  • Not to be off topic, but I'm setting up a studio for videos and I really like that background color on you wall. What color is it?

  • slip on a houge finger grip slide and fire controll is a little better.

  • good choice guys i have one myself!!! as far as weapon lights streamlight tlr3 works great. but the SR9 is my next right with SR1911.

    God bless

    SP

  • good choice i have one myself

  • i use my deagle chambered in .44 mag
