dude, your wasting your time with that, i found a better way! go on to amazon and type in xbox to vga in the search bar and you'll find an xbox input wire with a vga cable on the other end that can hook up to your monitor, and the best part is you get a red and white audio wire that comes out the vga end as well, which means you can hook up the audio end to you speaker system or you can order a female red and white audio wire with a 3.5mm female headphone jack, that'll let you play with sound!!

@RubberDucksPWN He showed everything required.... If you take apart your laptop and take out the screen, you would just plug it into this board and it would function like a normal monitor. Just search for: laptop model Teardown (insert your laptop model in there) then connect it to the board. Boom, done.

@Danimal102306 Laptop screens are all that thin without the case. Even most monitors. The thickness generally comes from a larger lighting system for the LCD. Without a backlight to the LCD, it would be the same as the Original GameBoy Advance's ultra dark screen.

@Danimal102306 I'm thinking you mean backlight. I may have typed that as well before. if I did, my bad. Yeah it has no back to it and you can actually see the LED lit panel on the back that makes it possible for him to see the screen. Since laptops have to be bright and super thin, that can make them very nice discrete monitors. Mine, is going to be mounted in my kitchen with a USB touchscreen kit added to it. 17" touch wall computer FTW! :)

@Killer360Hacks Two ways that are easy. Get either a DVI to HDMI cable which is sold on nearly every computer website, amazon or PC stores. Or get the offical Xbox 360 VGA cable. I would suggest DVI because it is a digital connection over VGA's analog. DVI to HDMI looks fantastic, but does not carry audio even though it is connecting through HDMI.

@A7XNCK Generally yes. Unless your laptop board is extremely old and has the actual analog plug on it, you would need the board. $29.99 with free shipping is actually quite cheap. It sure beats buying a new monitor for 3x-4x that.

The LCD screens that go inside laptops and monitors are the same, except the Desktop monitor has the control board built in, while the laptop doesn't use one because the videocard/motherboard does the job of the control board's job. Your misinformed, but ironically correct; this is a normal laptop LCD without the casing.

@pigoop If you are truly making an Ben Heck (the maker of the first Xbox and Ps3 Laptops) styled Xbox laptop, the power is not going to come off of a separate power supply like this is using, it will be powered off of the board. Much like you do not need to plug in current laptops and then separately plug in their monitors.

NJY Touch does actually have controller boards with sound. Look up "Model Number R.RT6251" It has sound, RGB, S-Video, AV Composite, Coaxial Input, and not sure but I think headphone jacks. For only $10-$15. Same ports as that of a TV. Although the website states you have to buy a certain amount. In like a bulk. Njytouchdotcom. Or alibabadotcom.
