yes it has a tamiya small connector but you will have to take out the 2 little battery support tabs on the inside of the hand guard pto get it to fit

I use a Sanyo battery in my ICS M4 and its excellent as long as you fully discharge it then do a good slow charge, you get a great rate of fire on the 9.6 compared to an 8.4.
