This is such a great song, but is relatively little known to anyone but Warren Zevon fanatics. Like so many other WZ songs, it has fantastic melody, lyrics, passion and a quality performance. Thanks for posting ... wayne
Boy did I repeat myself on this site. Sorry. Look for "Buffalo Springfield" 2010, at Young's Bridge School. Neil, Richie, and Stephen Stills were awesome. But this song is great .Zevon will never be forgotten His lyrics were prophetic.

You're right too. Mr. Young is awesome too. I followed him as well as Warren from his "Buffalo Springfield" days. He even wrote great songs back in the middle, and late 60's. "Expecting To Fly" and "Broken Arrow" were two of Neil's great songs from "Buffalo Springfield Again". He was a friend of Zevon.

This is such a brilliant Zevon song. I just bought the live album , "Stand In The Fire". Warren was incredible "Live". One of the best live albums I have ever heard. I put Neil Young away. Although I think Neil is great , he can't compare to Zevon. For diversity and brilliance no one could match Warren.
I sure can identify with Warren on this song. I have bad luck too. He was such a brain!! I also am OCD like Warren. I am superstititious. I read Warren had 40 grey tee shirts that he never even wore. They had to be good luck tee shirts, and he bought the best, Ralph Lauren. Sometimes if he felt like they were unlucky, he just threw them away. What a guy!! But brilliant. Maybe a little eccentric. But like Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gogan, Ralph Emerson, or Thoreau. They were all brilliant.
my life! OCCUPY!

Yes thank you. Someone posted a live version of " Veracruz". It was excellent.

By the those tee shirts were Calvin Klein. Warren only bought the best threads.

I was wondering if anyone can download "Veracruz", from Warren's "Excitable Boy" album? It is a great song.
