This is a spoof of 2 NBC soaps, Another World & Days of Our Lives.: Violette McKay & Mojo are parodies of the once-hugely popular, Iris Carrington & her devoted maid, Vivian on Another World. Iris Carrington would be the pro-type for the writers who later went onto create Alexis Carrington in 1980.
John Candy, chief of surgery making a stiff drink for himself & Dr. Sabian: "Isnt that funny, Chief of Surgery, out of ice..." What's funny is he keeps fricken cocktails in his office and shares them with surgeons while they're all working!
'days of the week' was great. i laughed my freakin but off watching this. haven't seen it in a couple decades. if anyone were to playlist all the episodes of DOTW together, that would be comedy heaven.
The corny lines,( "...like the magician says, 'Now you see it, now you don't' "), the goofy characters, the cheesy music and the lousy acting...they got a typical soap all down perfect. I remember watching this back then; we would joke around the house about it now and again, especially abouut John Candy's character.
Clay Collin's swagger in the opening credits STILL makes fall down on the floor laughing all these years later! Rick Moranis is a genius; ALL the SCTV players were awesome!
"i want... 8%!" man, i love the days of the week. and mojo. "am i your son?" i really want to see the next episode, if anyone can tell me where to find it.
This is SO awesome! I love SCTV, and the Days of the Week:) lol. This is the only one I've faound so far, unfortunately. Can't wait to see if you have more of these!

When this was new, two of my sisters mentioned that there was a maid very similar to Mojo on a long running soap called ''Another World."
