Questa è la voce del principe Calaf! Non quelle vocine leggere o viceversa quelle tante voci pompate e innaturali. E' poi superfluo parlare della meraviglia interpretativa e della tecnica INEGUAGLIATA di Pertile. Grande maestro!
Corelli was the prince but Pertile is surely the King of Tenors. The most accomplished. It am astounded that he pre-dates most celebrated tenors yet he possesses and masters with subtlety elements that all those after him trademarked. I hear everyone in his voice. His recordings are a monumental legacy.
I prefer Cortis' version of this aria though, he was pretty cool guy too_*
Wonderful recording. The translation right next to the Italian is a terrific addition to a full appreciation of this aria. Thank you, Paul, for doing this for Youtube listeners :))
What magnificent sense of dynamic proportions and of vocal coloration! A real tragedian's voice!

I think Turandot is pretty cool guy, eh sings opera and doesn't afraid of anything.
