It's not an abbess, boil, or zit. It's a Pilar Cyst. It's not caused by hair dye usage. Ever hear the term "oily build-up"? The oil builds up within the root of a hair follicle and encases it into a cyst. If you see a doctor, he can drain it & remove the sac so it does not reoccur. They are filled with either pasty thick material or runny but thick oily-like fluid.
The American Institute Of Advanced Medicine can help! They have over 25 years experience and over 90% success rate for a varity for skin disorders theaiam.com their protocols really work!!
@joe96421 thanks but your guess is as good as mine as i am told she is shy of doctors i also found out that she has had low iron issues and does not believe in western medicine but in native herbal treatment ..
Looks like a cyst, or blister, or boil or something or maybe a bug bite.. it has nothing to do with hair coloring or it would have happened way before 8 yrs or happend more than once
OK let me get this straight....they have beliefs that say nothing can be removed from the body good or bad,,,,,how about childbirth????? that cool with them??? C'mon they believe in Clariol Red Hairdye but they can't remove potentially dangerous poison from the body???? OK how about a snakebite???? The venom has to stay in.. Honestly I am not trying to be a smart-ass but I find this hard to believe!!!!!!!
@CindyE041464 yea thanks for your comment i guess the meaning goes as i am told from her husband who is Philippine too that it is there natural native customs for there tribe anyway that everything has a meaning good or bad and they use different methods other than physical means to remove something in the body weather good or bad, i think that may mean spiritual healing ritual ...
@CindyE041464 Child birth is a natural part of life & the child actually makes it's way out of the body when the time comes. (there's a high mortality rate among those who don't believe in medicine at all, hwr, I'd trust Eastern Med over a lot of Western, esp acupuncture); w/snake bites, you can actually tourniquet the area & use herbs and/or an anti-venom mixed w/herbs, it's considered as non-evasive & not true invasive medicine. Most pharma drugs originated from herbs then synthesized
@PaisleyPlace Just so you know & won't go to a doctor, migraines themselves, particularly rebounding migraines, normally don't respond well to meditation unless you've been doing it for a long time & even then, it can be the cause of another underlying condition that can make meditation difficult. I should know. I've had chronic migraines since childhood & I've had rebounding migraines yet I managed to eliminate triggers & use meditation for 10yrs w/o the need of ER/meds to stop the rebounding.
@CindyE041464 You're only being a smart ass who can't do a little research on specific religious beliefs as well as the beliefs of specific tribes and/or ethnic groups of people. Also, you obviously have no idea where the info or ideas for drugs originate & it isn't in the minds of scientists until they see the reaction an herb, root, or bark makes when used in small ethnic groups of people or among tribes people who go entire lives w/o even a cold. Read books other than comics or funny pages!
@CindyE041464 If it is a sebaceous cyst, which I'm sure it prob is, then warm-to-hot compresses applied every 15-20mins over a couple of days will soften the area enough for the heat to draw up the sebum & the moisturizing heat will soften the skin allowing it to break naturally w/o need of doc as long as no infection; it's best to remove the sac but many don't return; hwr, it's easy to slip it out when the skin is soft, broken & sebum comes out. Sac is a small circle of skin lifted w/tweezers.
@CindyE041464 This is no different then using chamomile tea or lavender aromatherapy to soak in a bath or spray or stuff in a pillow to bring on sleep as a sedative. Bella Donna works wonders but you MUST know how to use it as it's also a poison if you don't know how to prepare it + it's almost impossible to get in the US as it's illegal; sebaceous cysts in other parts of the body are often brought out by heated jars w/small openings. The skin inside eggs can be used to draw out a cyst aka boil.
@CindyE041464 I'd like to hope you wouldn't close your mind against something without actually talking to people who use this type of medicine & recognize how well it can work. This is not the same as laying an axe/knife under the bed to cut the pain in half when ill. The egg skin deal isn't the best action b/c of sterility issues; I'd opt for warm/hot compresses instead but it's been used for centuries! You need a major education in herbal medicine. I was raised on it & as a practitioner of it.
@CindyE041464 Btw, the next time you get a headache, pick up a bottle of the small aromatherapy essential oils at Bath & Body Works. They have a migraine aromatherapy that's nothing more than Eucalyptus & a few other little ingredients but breathing in the aroma actually does alleviate the headache as does laying or sitting in meditation while allowing your body to release the pressure within by using one part of the body at a time until you're totally relaxed & the headache normally eases.
@CindyE041464 It's not as easy for me to reach the state of meditation to alleviate the pain from a migraine b/c the pain from joint disease, nerve damage & other problems associated w/Lupus (SLE), Sjogren's, & Fibromyalgia. If I can't reach that point of clarity, the meditation doesn't work. Plus, it's not easy when married to an Englishman who thinks Western medicine fixes everything. The power of the mind & as needed use of specific herbs can be powerful yet less taxing on the body itself.
BTW, if you do try to open it, please use sterile gloves, alcohol b4 making an opening, & be sure to flush the area out. It's easier if a doc can do it b/c he/she can remove the sac so it won't come back. These can get really infected & cause all sorts of major life-threatening problems if not properly cared for when infected. Please remember sterilization if you attempt to go it alone w/o a doc. I've had a few of these cysts & I've removed them, hwr I'm from a large family of med professionals.
@PaisleyPlace. cont'd: I didn't personally attend medical school but I did go through an intense medical transcription program w/the top school in the country & worked in the field for a level I trauma center as an MT for more than 10yrs. I only had to resign b/c lupus attacked nerves & left me w/a damaged nerve in my right arm that affected my ability to withstand a 120+wpm typing speed & 99% accuracy. Nerve damage/pain & joint disease left no choice but resignation.Wish I could help more.
She's in the right ethnic group where autoimmunes are highest (Native American Indians, Asian, African-descent). I'm 1 generation from a pure bloodline & most of the women in my family have some form of autoimmune disease. I was the 2nd in my generation but now there's 4 others, 3 dx, 1 waiting, & 2 more are symptomatic but haven't been tested or started the testing process yet. The sores I get have nothing to do w/ingrown hairs or coloring; It's lupus. I truly think this is a sebaceous cyst.
Personally, I also believe it's just a sebaceous cyst; hwr, does she have others that have come/gone over yrs & has she had any symptoms of autoimmune diseases? The reason for asking is b/c I have lupus(SLE) & Sjogren's, diagx apprx 10yrs ago. I've had color on my hair for more than 23yrs. I've only in the last several yrs began having little bumps on the lower scalp area but they're all part of the lupus cycle - think butterfly rash. It's another symptom tho' I don't get it thank goodness.
This is a sebaceous cyst. The hair coloring has nothing to do with it. If it did, she'd have these things ALL OVER her head. Get a new exacto knife, wash the area real well, make a small incision and pop that bad boy outta there. No colring the hair for a few weeks, afterwards. Make sure you get the sac out, too....
Coloring the hair has nothing to do with it, oitherwise she'd have those sores ALL OVER her head. This is a classic sebaceous cyst. Wash the area real good, use a new Exacto knife, make a small incision (not too deep) and pop that bad boy outta there. No biggy. It will heal up just fine, long as YOU GET THE SAC outta there, too. Keep it clean. No coloring the hair for a few eeks afterwards.
to valleyjulie, no i did not get to tape the removal because there is no removal as yet, his wife is from a native area of the Philippines and there tribal beliefs doesn't include the removal of any body parts good or bad,
but i will keep on it if she should change her mind
This looks like it may be a sebaceous cyst. They are fairly common and easy to remove. Most Family Practictioners are able to do it in an office visit. They use lidocaine to numb the area and then they open it and drain it, removing the sac so it doesn't grow back. Please let us know how everything turns out.
