  • **watch it** + ***shaker***

  • The shadow box vid is my favorite and i watch all the time; the skaher inspired coat rack is my nxt fave, mostly cuz of the drawers....

  • Also, the shadow box is the first thing ive ever built, aside from a penny board i made in shop class when i was in the 7th grade....a penny boar is just a board with 2 1- inch holes on either ends with pegs in the board as defensive blockers, and the object is to flick the penny in the opposite end hol..... :-)

  • Btw way....thank u for the wonderful videos.....you do them so weel, and they are very enjoyable to watch!!

  • @STEVINMARIN...i jst made a shadow box following your steps, and im going to order the zebra wood cause i think it looks sooo good......it wont be finished for a few weeks due to the zebra wood being in the mail!!

  • I loved the music buffet, a little bit of everything. Great videos.

Do you drink lots of coffee?

  • The music is terrible. Change it, please

  • I love it when he is trolling :D

  • Steve,

I love your videos, music, workmanship, humor, laugh, and you just being you. No I am not gay it just that you have fun making these videos and you being yourself is why I watch. Your awesome dude.

  • nice project Steve, We really enjoy your videos (my girlfriend and I). Ive been thinking about building something similar for my late Grandfathers flag and medals. This was kind of inspiring :D

Anyways, if you're ever in Nevada County look us up, we got a neat little shop, and beer.

  • Love watching this... Makes me laugh.... Too bad if they don't like the Music.... It's for free....

  • If you wanna move you gotta do a house repair because your house looks like the chees(after removing) . Holes are everywhere on the wall. :)

  • where can you buy zebra wood and other hard woods too like maple or cherry etc...

  • @master4839 Check local lumberyards. Online, Rockler, Woodcraft and other retailers sell exotics.

  • awe you should have used a yellow light instead of the blueish led :(

  • how did you attach it to the wall?

  • Music for all :) esa estuvo buena, faltó la música salsa :)

  • @warrudoz ¿Por qué amo los comentarios de español tanto? Definitivamente debería haber tenido la salsa!

  • The music is hilarious :D

  • He said his wife gave him wood..........get it wood.....wood, anyone hello ahhhh forget it and figured wood too my wife never gave me figured wood she mush be very special......oh forget it.

  • You could have built a balsa bird house from a kit and not used your birthday board and I would have still watched this more than once! I might have used the Ride of the Valkyries (think helicopter scene in Apocolypse Now to remember the tune) for the spraying, but otherwise, I see perfection here.

  • i like the music wat was the music called

  • LOL on the music that really did make me laugh. That frame was outstanding I really liked it, not to hot on the box part, I thought it would have just been nice as a frame.

  • Play triohatala of stimmhorn :):)

  • This is a great project. i make some of the stuff u make by watchin ur videos man. im 19 ans hope im a professional carpenter later in life. thanks and keep posting ur great videos.

  • The music was great!

  • This might not be the best place for this request but I wanted to give it a shot: I have a rough idea for making a small box with a "hidden" locking mechanism and would like to hear your thoughts and hopefully a how to video. Thanks in advance

  • @ps3moe314 I've been intrigued by this. Search for user Xemnas2421 and see his puzzle box video. It's amazing.

  • I've decided this year for Christmas I'm making everyone something. This is definitely what mom is getting! Thanks!

  • holy crap it's House

  • what was the name of the first song?

  • Hi boss you sliced/cut the Zebra wood on the band saw free habd cool, you did not use the table saw ? is there a reson for that?

are you not frightened Tiger wood will not attack it? tiger wood not tiger woods!

  • what was the name of the first song?

  • i actually loved all the different music. great work as always, love the video.

  • There was music in your previous videos?! ;) Well, I don't really care ... keep on posting these great projects! Thanks for sharing!

  • My suggestion is for you to pick out music that you like and to heck with what everybody else thinks. Great vid!

  • now your just making fun of the people who didnt like your music in the video. To Bad for them. Im just glad you dont talk the whole time.

  • I like the idea of music is funny

  • Nice project, nice music! Now I'v seen 'Make a lighted shadowbox' on TV, at least, youtube..

  • No heavy metal :(

  • The ending tune wins.

  • That is look good. Thanks fot the idea. (but the music ... hmmm it's like a lullaby. :) )

  • Good Job Steve! I liked the grommet music the best.

  • Another excellent project.

  • Love all the music ... now put a two way mirror in front and you have a forever lighted shadow box ...

  • that box is beautiful and definitely a cool idea.

But the music was really varied.

  • that box is beautiful and definitely a cool idea.

But the music was really varied.

  • Nice project Steve, the music was still a bit sketchy (JK) I look forward to the MDF project, I was talking with a friend and he was saying that it can be made to look like leather...that would be interesting.

  • Great project, really nice. My family thinks you are a woodworking Master! Hee hee... I won't tell them the truth. Kidding, I even liked the music.

  • still prefer the sound of the saw machines D:

but the music doesnt bad though

  • Disco Steve!!! XD

  • Is the 1st part of the music from a cartoon with a magic carpet in it?

  • sorry steve , but the music didn't do it for me. the woodworking however, well, thats another story.

  • can u make a computer station as your next project, for us geeks lol

  • Hey Steve, your hilarious man xD I always enjoy watching your movies, I don't bother which music you choose. But darn, my music wasn't in there, haha. Keep up the good work !

  • LMAO I love what you did with the music!

Great project, keep it up! :D

  • I thank you did a good job on show how to make, the best of the wood, it look very nice thanks Sir

  • Great informative vid as usual. But... I hated the music. :-(

    :-)

  • You are like the coolest ever! I like how you are so open about the comments!

  • Very interesting music (all of them)

The project is so simple and so nice

There is only one thing: I didn't like much the insertion of the mirror form the front. I can see the edges of it. If you had a little larger one to slide it from the side so that the wood covers the edges of the mirror, or make the mirror itself the back of the box, I think it will be better. Don't you think?

btw, did u ever try to stain zebra wood??

  • Man your crazy :) (but in a good way..... haha)

    And nice project !

  • The music at 2:35 and 5:55 are not to my taste, Steve. I expect that they will never appear in one of your fine productions again. Thank you. : )

Oh, the wood working was good.

  • I loved all the music!!! :D

  • what did you finish it with?

  • Pretty cool project Steve.

  • Why did a suddenly think about Eric Estrada riding a bike at 4:28 ?

  • @cyberyiyo Yeah man!!!

  • @cyberyiyo What's that song though?

  • I've got those same stick-up lights! I put one outside on my front door to shine on the keyhole.... I had to find something to do with the other two.

How do you get glass and mirror the right size for your projects?

  • @breezebro Well, a viewer sent me 4 of those mirrors and I based the project around the size of one. But most towns will have a glass/window shop...check it out. My local glass shop will cut you mirrors or glass to any size you want, and it's surprisingly inexpensive.

  • @stevinmarin You could also buy a diamond wheel glass cutter for 5 or 10 bucks and cut it to whatever size you need. You could probably trash pick a mirror or glass easily enough.

  • @stevinmarin OK, I'll give a local glass company a call. I figured they would be too expensive for small pieces. Thanks!

  • @breezebro You can also by mirror plexiglass and you can also get it in many different colors.Very easy to cut.I use it all the time on my scroll saw projects..

  • @Radh1215 Thanks! I've looked for it thanks to your comment, do you know of a place to buy it online in cut sizes?

  • try ebony next :3

  • I didn't hear any Polka music...

  • wonderful project. wonderful music..what a wonderful world. At present I am turning open segmented Christmas ornaments. My fingertips hurt like crazy from all the pressure. If your fingertips can take it...you should try open segmented turning.it makes really neat Chirstmas gifts...or maybe I should say "holiday" gifts. Some people are offended by Christamas.

  • Awesome job!!

  • Fantastic. Some of that music cracked me up.

  • The disco part was hilarious.

  • @entmage Hey, who doesn't love disco?

  • Nice music but next video u should use some green day music

  • @spyroruler Love Green Day!

  • The best music was the last one... IoI... it seems a mix of Super Mario e Germany Folkloric Music.

  • I was so sure you would put Rolling Stones´s "painted black" after you showed the painted box...

  • @Kaputznefreble Heh...only if there were a bland royalty-free version.

  • After hearing about the music complaints I had to watch last weeks video again. It was the Shaker coat rack right? Yeah I heard music in the background but what was the problem everyone had with it? Just ignore people like that. Using all of those audio clips like you did had to have been a pain. It was nice, but really now. You're really turning into Mr. MDF Steve. Do you ever think people will come around to appreciating the beauty of just plain MDF? Then you won't have to vernier it anymore.

  • @1pcfred I love MDF. It's the easiest material to work with and it's cheap. I've decided to stop wasting perfectly good wood on secondary surfaces where it won't show. If it's something that's going to be painted, MDF is now my first and only thought. As for it's unfinished beauty, well that's in the eye of the beholder I suppose!

  • @stevinmarin I guess wood working projects made out of exotic woods make an impression on me, I'm not so sure if the impression is 100% positive. I kind of like how OSB looks and it is dirt cheap! I wonder if anyone has ever experimented on MDF using different finishing techniques just to see what could be done with the stuff? Stained with a french finish you never know! Hey if you're doing this for fun then use what you enjoy flaunt it. Yeah its made out of MDF what of it?

  • @1pcfred I like that attitude! MDF (unfortunately) is like a sponge. If you try to apply a finish, it just drinks it up and still looks the same. It's perfect for paint though, which just sits on the surface. I've never tried staining it though...might be worth a shot.

  • @stevinmarin The biggest challenge with crafting is setting yourself apart from everyone else so if no one is finishing MDF it just might be something. I actually have a project planned where I am thinking about using MDF in a unique role and finishing it would add to the utility of the material.

  • Great videos, and music

  • LoL!

    :)

  • if you ever stop making videos. i dont know how i will live on with my life.

  • @fumbimo You'd have to just watch LOL cats and start planking.

  • @stevinmarin havnt you heard? planking has been replaced with owling.

  • Nice Job. GREAT music... but wouldn't the use of double sided "mirror" tape be easier and less messy than the epoxy mounting?

  • @AlecWoodworker Yep. One of these days I'll think of obvious solutions before I build!

  • Music choices are much better this week! Plus, the music isn't drowning out your voice like last week's project, that was a big part of it too. Very cool little project.

  • tight!

  • Haha love eeet

  • That has got to be the best way of dealing with complaints about the music in your videos! Something for everybody! LOL! You're my hero, Steve.

  • your wife gets you wood for your birthday that is so AWSOME !!!!

  • @nickmcgowan16 I recommended it last year on my Xmas gift-buying guide. Apparently she watched one of my videos!

  • There was no Jazz! Grumble grumble mumble…

  • @dzzz78 I like jazz too much to parody it!

  • Love the music!

  • I enjoyed the music!

  • haha loved the music steve keep on the good work lol

  • yay!!!!

  • lol nice music choices! now hopefully people won't complain!
