@jsrosa1282 I believe it was Kathy Nolan (at least she was in the original Broadway cast), who went on to star on "The Real McCoys" with Walter Brennan and Richard Crenna.
Oh my gosh, I do love the net and especially YouTube. I never really thought she sang like a woman, though. There seemed to be a rough quality to her voice, you think? I really loved her in South Pacific, too.
I remeber this so vividly and I was only 7 at the time. ONLY Mary Martin could ever be Peter Pan for me. God love you, Ms. Martin. You were so terrific!
@brabon1 I rhink rhe reason Mary Martin works is because she seems like a little boy. Sandy Duncan was too feminine. I remember as a very young child that I thought Martin WAS a boy. Her performance in Peter Pan was remarkable. I love this play with her in it!
@mangledinal i thought she was a boy too...couldnt figure out how a boy sang like a woman. then i saw her in south pacific (had that album too as a kid) she is pretty feminine in that movie
she was an amazing talent
dont you just love the net? when we were kids, we would have to wait a whole year to see this...now, its just a click away

Talk about pricing power. $4.98 is really a premium price for an LP in 1956...probably amounts to about $25 or$30 bucks in today's dollars
