I think a lot of the reviews are unnecessarily brutal, bordering on unprofessional. Seems like a lot of them are more interested in patting themselves on the back for hating anything that doesn't fit in the mold. People have it out for Diablo Cody because she's different and isn't playing the Hollywood games within the system. The obsession with personally insulting Diablo is both disturbing and telling.

Plus, as Jennifer says, most of those reviews are courtesy of the "boy run media." Haters!

i completely agree.

speaking as someone who has actually seen the movie, i really enjoyed it and felt that the publicity it received was unnecessarily harsh.

granted, it wasn't a completely original idea (the parallels with the (slightly superior) film Ginger Snaps are many), but in a genre of mindless slashers and remakes it was a breath of fresh air.

and it's great that it was written and directed by two women.
