The NHL needs to make a rule that the ref standing at center ice can't overturn the call of a ref standing right where a play is taking place. Martell was in perfect position to see that it was no goal when Leggo was at center ice. How could Leggo tell it was a goal that far away? Mickey Redmond is right. It's unacceptable

@aaron1210 I take back the part about Leggo being at center ice, as he was following Ott in during the play. But still, he wasn't in a position to see whether it crossed the line. The rule in the NHL should be if the ref who is closer to the play makes a call, the video is inconclusive, the referee that is closest to the play's call should stand.

Just one of many glaring stains in the Gary Bettman Era. The NHL might be able to compete with the Big 3 sports in the USA (MLB, NBA, NFL) if they had a commish that new what the hell he was doing. I was at that game, and I can say that call was horrible. Soo much so that they only showed a replay of it on the big screen 2 times. The rest of the time they had the stupid banners on it. Or a shot of the ref sticking his finger in his a--. Horrible.

since when were we talking about the play of the wings or whether or not they are a good team this year?... they've had their struggles, their star players just got back recently n they're just now getting in the groove of things. this wasn't about that though you scholar you, this is about the shitty ass call on the ice. if you actually played hockey and respected the game then you wouldn't be so fucking blind and incompetent to call that a goal.

8:16 three officials, Martell is blocked by the glove, the linesman is blocked by the legs and body, only official that can see the puck, Leggo. One thing the stars broadcoast comment was that if the puck was on edge pass the line and then drops back down on the line, is that a goal as the puck had totally cross the line?

Now age has let me to know that I direct my 'piss' to the individual(s) that cause this problem, this case the DRW players, one directed the puck into their own net and then the goal tender couldn't kept the puck in front of him and the shootout shooter couldn't score or shoot the puck at the net, not at fan at the game happy to see DRW fall apart and let a transplant team beat them again for the 3rd time in 1 season..3-2 :D

LOL..more than just stupid takes over, they used those voodoo dolls wearing DRW jerseys and stick pins in them...it a game of inches and there is those times when one team can't get a 'break' over another or just plays 'bad' against a team for no reason. And you can't really say the DRW haven't gotten 'gift goals' ever before, hell the franchise has been around since '26. I expect the players have gotten over it, there will be another day to make up for it, it comes with age, trust me. :)

yeah your gonna see better than tv from section 313 if you have a telescope maybe jackass... btw if you didnt know tv cameras have zoom i know it may be something a hillbilly like you might not understand but a camera view from tv gives you so many more ways to view it and also the option to view it more than once unlike someone watch all the way from section 313..... also i dont think its much to brag about being at all sorts of events if your sitting just about outside of the arena....

Oh so thank you ...yea yea... I am soooo glad to be a transplant to TEXAS from up north, some us played hockey too and enjoy the sport more than the 'expect' think so, hope you're as 'upset' over the play of the DRW players, the 11 SC winning team, yea yea, that couldn't keep up the play for 3 periods, let some transplant team win over them, they even helped DS with a goal. BTW, icing is not as good as whip cream on a cake, better for your health. still 3-2 days later. 8:16 goal.
