two things:

on the sims 2 i had a guy cook in the oven and it went on fire and it burned the entire OUTSIDE the inside was perfectly fine and the dogs and the neighbours

In the original Sims I once had a Sim survive a fire like this because they peed themselves and put out the fire where they were standing. And since there was a puddle there, that tile never caught fire again.
