it' s actually true, most people in the world are already starving and unrest is increasing while goverments are becoming more hedious by wasting tax money, etc, etc. thus, wars, revolutions and famine will precede any such stupid society where everything is embedded with computers for no apparent reason.
That's hilarious. With everything being tracked in the physical world via this internet of things a person who knows how can make things literally disappear or not happen by manipulating the software so that there is no record if the object or event. Then, for all to see, the modification becomes reality and everyone accepts it. This is very like 9/11, however with this type of society it'll be worse. One would be unable to question anything because all questions would be presumed answered.
This is olden, Along with ES systems the data being collected for the most part is in the Private sector. Now imagin an international Data Base for DNA. If the insurance companys get their way they can set policys on your children before they are even born. With your cars computer. GPS and your driving habits will effect your rates. Imagin an accident the speed limits 30 and your doing 35. The GPS sets Location and time. And faults are determined from space. Here comes the future.
@cycimian They wont let you speed, or swerve. everything will be controlled by computers, you wont be able break speed limit, or do a left/right turn without signalling, etc... thus, there will be no accidents, thus... no need for insurance?
we have yet to see the most dangerous form of big brither yet. but everything that is being discussed right here is everything that is been preached in the Bible which is the most futuristic book on the earth....
A few seconds in a microwave will destroy the information on an RFID chip if it doesn't destroy the physical chip itself, making it worthless to the readers.
it is the man pulling the levers that is more to blame. technology has no morality. Investigate "the 300 club" for a look at some of the lever pullers.
Yeah just watch the brain dead Olympics and vote for Obama or that other jerk Mac-Gain hey on the same team anyway, keep being sheeple till they put a RFID up your ass and tell you when to crap, but hey the Olympics are on, put the TV in the toilet... Not a bad Idea and flush the damn thing, this may backfire after all...
RFID chips are nothing more than the wireless equivalent of the black magnetic strip on the back of a credit card. They don't tell you to do anything, or record anything about you. They can't track you like the GPS in cell phones. And they can't wirelessly communicate to anything, over any greater distance than a few feet. So you still have to be near a "scanner".
And the only information stored on the chip, is numbers or letters. So used mostly for shopping, or a new form of credit card.
Another interesting look at how computer technology is making our lives "better" and "better" and "better".
This is no laughing matter. Not at all. People need to reject and resist all attempts by industry and government to foist and entice us with cyber ubiquity.
Here's a good start to begin to undo some of this (or at least slow them down): get rid of your debit and credit cards, and return to using ONLY cash, and checks at a bare minimum.
Additionally, don't agree to have your cable company re-wire your home (Comcast is currently doing that in my area to prepare for 2-17-09) and if you don't have cable (like me) don't purchase and install one of those new, government required, digital t.v. descramblers.
LETHLSS: You've got a drivers license or id card, a social security card, some kind of bank account and are wired to the grid through your utilities and/or entertainment devices-- aren't you? Those chips are tiny; and with nanotechnology, they're only getting smaller. If they want to tag and monitor you, they will.
To give you a small sense of control, they'll leave those big rfid tags on the clothes and products you buy so that when you cut them out and toss them, you'll feel safe.

ill never understand why people are so afraid of informaton about them being available. It will never have any real influence on their lives, unless they kill someone etc.
BewareOfOranges: allowing the powers-that-be to collect any and all information they wish to collect will allow them to develop and institute means & methods which are meant to manipulate, suppress, & control our beliefs and behavior. Under such conditions individual identity, creativity, and growth will be squelched. How will we evolve into our higher selves if our environments are designed to produced docile, obedient drones?
This is how you know your government is evil or run by evil people when they use lots of surveillance systems. You should know that they don't believe in God because if they did believe in God they would know that God is surveillance. Nothing goes past God without Him Knowing. When governments put up surveillance like this their considered being gay.

It would be easy enough to put RFID tags on the appliances, like washers, dryers, and microwave ovens.

How about them Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch?
Everyone thinks they're daft for refusing to use electricity and automobiles, right?
Not looking so daft NOW, are they?
I wonder will THEY be forced to wear RFID chips or is that too much of a technology for them or what?
