In reality it seems it hasn't been burned, otherwise the wooden structure would have fallen (after a section reducing) and the concrete would have been too much blackened. So they decided to expose the wooden scaffolding to two cycles of smoking. And the outcome is plainly spectacular, isn't it? I think that Zumthor is one of the best Baumeisters ever. So honest, gentle and brutal. I love it.
