It is haraam, but less haraam than smoking. It's just a better alternative to commercial music. Not all muslims are pious shaikhs. Let's not make a song and dance about it.
i didn't find any hadith says that music haram !!!!but i found a hadith talks about some women doing music and playin and Mohammad didn' say a word ....and that means =>(not haram)
"And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e.music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire)".
this is haram, if you think your benfiting people your not, your just influencing the so called HALAL music, just because your words are ISLAMIC dont make the music instruments halal too.
did dude just say "got my akhs in the crowd, Quran and 9 milli's"? lol, come on... otherwise they both went in... nice to see brothers use their talent positively
May Allah swt bless these believers for their intentions and guide them to the best .Ameen.Remove the music and follow the guidance of Rasullah(saaw). I know many will probably criticize my comment, however, the Prophet Muhammed's( saaw)sunnah was to destroy the instruments. Insha'Allah, these young Muslim could earn favor with Allah for doing a good thing the right way.
Sisters and brothers, let's not misrepresent the Deen, Because many support this, do not stop here, follow the sunnah.
@uzomah821 Salaam Uzomah, based on your comments, I believe that you may me a knowledgeable scholar. Could you kindly guide me to the appropriate authentic hadiths regarding this matter? This seems to be controversial issue among various scholars; however, I am not sure. I know that when it comes to Religion, Music, or any of Allah's favors, they can all be used for good or evil.
@uzomah821 yes you are right however islam is a religion for men of understanding, as you know 95% of the music in the pop industry exposed to kids is about haraam things such as sex, drugs, violence. The young relate to it, grow up listening to tunes especially in the west, muslim youth love tupac etc now if the tunes talk positive and get their minds at least to focus for a minute on god then alhamdholillah, they can see 'cool' people praising allah.
