I never thought I'd see Simon hug someone-not that I think him callous, I just know that some people like "their bubble"-their personal space, and Simon just seemed like that type of person to me. This whole program has been fun to watch, and I enjoyed seeing the friendship (in a business sense) between Paul and Simon. God bless you, Paul. He certainly gave you a wonderful voice. Congrats!

You cannot compare him with a professional opera singer who has been formally trained for years. Still, Paul has introduced millions to opera. He has plenty of talent, but he was poorly skilled. However, a vocal coach had to be working with him throughout the show, as his technique consistently improved. It is somewhat saddening that future generations will probably know this song as performed by Paul Potts and not Pavarotti.

I felt the same way about Paul as I did about Susan. They're both up against people who've already got some form of entertainment deal in their back pocket from the show, and they're all very young with their whole life ahead of them. Give the people who never got a chance their opportunity to shine. And the 50 year old person who outperforms a 20 year old person deserves it moreso in my opinion.

It's true. Potts clearly has trouble with staying on pitch -- far too often.

An occasional warble one is inclined to overlook. Everybody loves a Cinderella story, after all. I myself rooted for him when he first auditioned.

But as a voice student (amateur, I hasten to add), knowing that he's clearly doing quite a number of things wrong technically makes it impossible for me to pretend Potts is better than he actually is
