@RyanBrooksby Gotta agree with you. I mean even if Hitler was killed during WW 1, the socio economic pressures might have nonetheless given another chap the chance to create something like the NAZI party.
BTW, didn't the British soldier who almost killed Hitler corresponded with him years later?
These trenches are in the sun and well kept. The trenches our ancestors fought in were covered in mud, filled with rats & diseases, combined with icy winds, big downpours of rain and were often so low, one could not stand up, hurting your back. One step up straight, could kill you. Now add that to a constant tornado of noise coming from (machine)guns, canons, grenades, screams, gas attacks, ... Now you know what hell on earth was like... You could meet 100 people a day and be lonely by night...
ok fellas if this argument continues i'l have to start deleting comments
6–12 September, French and British troops were able to force a German retreat north of the Aisne River, where the Germans dug themselves up.The first major trench lines were completed in late November 1914. the trenches were built by both sides. and that's the end of that !
@MartianSanta Thank you though what ever happened to this series and the history channle? I want to see some real history not swamp loggers and swamp people seems like most of the shows should be on discovery or spike

Well we thank ourselves such an idiot ruled Germany. What if (gasp) someone who was actually competent ruled Germany? they could've ruled the world!
(afterall Hitler was a retard at tactics.)

Sir, thank you so much for posting this up. I have been looking for this episode, as well as the civil war one for longer than I wish to remember.
I shall be sending my first born son in the post to you, so you may receive him as a sacrifice to your greatness.

Actually I think trench warfare was started during the America Civil War 1864-65.
Ponyboy8877 4 months ago
@Ponyboy8877 It started as far back as ancient times, but WWI was its peak and when it was used the most.
SpadaccinoLuciano 4 months ago
@Ponyboy8877 no it started during the siege of sebastopol in the crimean war

@Gabbafoo It didn't say they started WWI. It said they initiated Trench Warfare, which is accurate.
Antepenult 5 months ago
@Gabbafoo i think they were talking about trench warfare not ww1
MasterUnited15 5 months ago
@Gabbafoo He meant "trench warfare" not "world war one". After the "miracle at Marne" both sides dug in.

@Gabbafoo No. They say the Germans started TRENCH WARFARE in 1914, not WWI.
