  • Have another Lucky Strike, Lucy

  • this makes me feel weird, gary doesnt belong

  • rip lucy we all miss and love you your the sweetest person in the whole world :) ps who cares who she daited thats all her bisness. I love lucy youl never get a better comidy then that

  • nowadays the second way gary used his sleeves isbcool lol all covering hands xD

  • I love Lucy to peices; but in Desi's autobiography he hints descretly in two place that Lucy had been having an affair as well. And I don't think Desi would make things up about Lucy. Weither its true or not I don't know.

  • I read in Lucy's autobio that Desi could not understand why she was so upset about him being with hookers, because they were just whores and it's not like he had a girl friend. He told her that in Cuba sex with hookers is accepted and marriage is separate and accepted by the wives. Lucy said this is American and it's not accepted. I wonder how many times he cheated on his second wife. I don't think it had anything to due with Lucy maybe being frigid, I think he was just a dog.

  • @magicbutterfly0 sorry to burst your bubble but i am in fact a Lucille Ball historian and i happen to know that she loved Desi until the day that he died and Gary knew it and Lucy and Desi spoke on the phone everyday Gary was 2nd to Lucy and i have no respect for Gary if youd know what i do thanks anyway

  • I COMPLETELY AGREE THAT LUCY'S HEART BELONGED TO DESI, CAUSE EVEN NOW IN THIS INTERVIEW IF ANYONE NOTICE THERE IS NO MENTION OF DESI WHAT SO EVER. NOT FROM HER AND HER KIDS NOT EVEN THE HOST. THE PAIN OF LOSING THE LOVE OF HER LIFE WAS TO GRAND AND EVEN NOW IN THIS INTERVIEW U CAN SEE THAT SHE IS STILL HURTING. I'M GLAD GARY MAKES HER SMILE, THEIR FRIENDSHIP/LOVE IS WHAT HAS GIVEN HER LIFE AND U KNOW THEY SAY IF UR GANNA GET MARRIED, MARRY UR BEST FRIEND. IT'S GREAT TO SEE HER HAPPY. RIP LUCY!

  • We miss you mrs Ball

  • Lucille and Desi should of stayed together becuz they were always meant for each other..

  • gotta love gary's laugh. so easy to hear in here's lucy and the lucy show

  • none of this would have happened. However, everything happens for a reason I guess. And who knows. if they hadn't split, would Lucy have become the legend or would things have died down? I will always feel sad they divorced. I wish they had help back then like they do now. Maybe if they talked things out with someone they could've healed.

  • I always think it's rather difficult to see her with Gary because I feel it's so wrong in a way. Does that make any sense? I feel kinda alone it that lol I just feel that her heart was always with Desi and if things were different they never would have split. (And yes, I've read both Desi's autobiography and Lucy's) I don't agree with how Desi treated her but I think if he never had started drinking and been faithful,

  • I think Desi and Lucy's hearts always remained for each other in the end even. They always fondly talked about each other and the look on their faces would soften and look loving.

  • Heart heart was always with Desi, it was so obvious. Desi & Lucy always.

  • I never felt the chemisty between Gary and Lucy. Lucy probably loved Gary. However, I didnt see the unspoken intense chemistry between them like you saw with Lucy and Desi. Gary was more mellow. Lucy and Desi seem to have fun together.

  • It really is a shame what happened to Lucy and Desi, because they really did love each other, much more than Gary and Lucy seemed to, but unfortunatly their work got in the way. Vewy sad :(

  • i have read three biographies of Lucille ball, i can safely say her relationship to Gary was more of a roommate and a close friends. It lacked the fiery passion that she had with Desi. and you can clearly see it

  • @caloscalante1518

Completely agree! I always thought so too.

  • @ChandlerandMonica83 Then i am also sure you agree Desi Was a fool to lose a woman like Lucille . I sure would not have done what he did if Lucille was my wife. i would have had everything i was looking for in a perfect woman. (no i do not hate desi just thought he made bad decisions that cost his marriage) lol

  • She was a comedic genius!

  • desi was abusive tho, very sad

  • Very funny. Lots of laughs for good health.

  • well Lucy said that Desi was the love of her life or her soul mate it was very sad about what happen to them and if you read both of their books they tell u that they loved each other until they day they died and i remember they kissed when they were divorced they have a pixx of it so yea i think Gary knew as well that she still loved Desi alot more then him :)

  • many say that gary married lucy for her money (she was worth over $300 by the time she divorced desi) he signed a prenup to dispell this rumor.

  • >:O dats not rite i really wish she was with Desi : [

  • yes so do I :( they were the most amazing couple!

  • Surely she was worth more than $300.

  • desi got 50% when they divorced.

  • It was 300 million

  • yes, the smartest thing lucy and desi did was buy RKO studios and convert it to desilu studios. lucy was very powerful after divorcing desi she became head of the studio and one of the most powerful women in Hollywood...the studio became to much and she sold to paramount.

  • Any guy that makes you laugh is a great find

  • Comment removed

  • Lol people sometimes forget that she was married to Gary longer than Desi

  • 3:27- Sorry to all you Morton lover and/or Desi haters, but it just looks and feels wrong to see Lucy kiss anyone besides Desi when she's not acting.

  • I don't think she loved Gary near as muc has she loved Desi

  • Agree., but i think he was so good to Lucy it made her relax---that's what i need to find!

  • he actually wasn't that good to her...made her laugh yes...but he could make her cry I'm not a fan of Gary Morton's he loved golf more than Lucy

  • i agree with you too!

  • what a strange thing to remember, cuffs, sleeves. It's sooo old fashioned. It's like talking about cuff links, spats, dippity-do, etc.

  • I heard after Desi died Lucy felt awful. She was devastated.

  • Well, they HAD remained best friends even after the divorce.

  • Never knew they had remained that close

  • he was her soul mate, she had lost her other half

  • yes she as devastated! she didnt talk to anyone but gary and her kids.

  • @Muffy2314 Desi was a really nice guy, but maybe hard to be married to.

  • Its beautiful to see a comedian laugh, especially when its Lucille Ball.

  • yeah true she loved both of them dearly but no one ever replaced the way she felt about desi. gary just gave her comfort and made her feel good about her life. she also said in her book me and desi never really liked each other all it was was true love and passion but with gary they started off liking each other than fell in love. but i think the love lucy felt was sort of like a friend or confidant. desi was the great love of her life from 1940 til her dying days in 1989.

  • aw desi and lucy were amazing together! I miss them! and i agree with you!

  • Lucy married Gary within a year from divorcing Desi, didn't she?

  • She was married to GM 28 years, and to DA 20 years.

  • A little longer actutally about 1 1/2.

    Desi Arnaz (30 November 1940 - 4 May 1960)

    Gary Morton (19 November 1961 - 26 April 1989)

  • Gary seemed more like a brother to Lucy than a husband. Apparently he could make her laugh, which was good, but during the last 10 years of their marriage it seemed like he pretty much ignored her in favor of golf. He also gave her some terrible professional advice which contributed to her depression at the end. He was obsessed with how much money she made -- even when she didn't need to make any more. Gary wasn't a drunk or a cheater like Desi, but he had his own faults.

  • All the people trashing Gary should realize he gave her what Desi couldn't.

  • @Jsd8675 He really did.

  • In my oppion Gary Morton was in no way any thing like Desi Arnaz in good and bad ways...but it seems like Gary took great care of her for the rest of her life...

    ♥I LOVE LUCY!!!♥

  • I think Gary was a place of peace and comfort for her after some very difficult years. I think she loved them in different ways. He certainly took good care of her for the rest of her life.

  • yes i think he made Lucy very happy. she could relax.

  • @DnDx2 That can really make a GREAT husband.

  • Gary Morton is boring. His jokes are not funny.

    ILL xx

  • gary morton was NO desi arnaz

  • i love lucy AND I ALWAYS WILL!

  • :O GM is 49 there??? He does look the same age as Lucy. Or she looks his age lol.

  • I think her relationship with Gary was.. easy, like two buddies, but the one with Desi was more passionate, in every way.

  • Lucy And Desi Where So In Love With each other it is so had to explane what they felt for each other

  • Gary doesn't appeal to me. Desi seemed more natural. Gary appears too rehearsed. Also, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Lucy's humor was mainly self-deprecating. That was a lot of her appeal. If you haven't seen it, see the Bill Holden skit. I love Lucy.

  • I think Mr. Morton had to be pretty self confident to marry Lucy. He had to know that he would always be compared to Desi. That had to be hard and wouldn't be easy on anyone's ego. And yet he seemed to pull it off with aplomb. I think Lucy would say that both men, Desi and Gary, had unique places in her heart.

  • @maryquant1967 Well said...great points.

  • Gary Morton was almost 49 in this clip. He looks the same age as Lucy, 62.

  • She and Desi loved each other but the strain of their work cost them their relationship. I think she loved Gary but there was always a special place in her heart for Desi because he was her first love and they went through so much together.

  • i wish lucy stayed with desi...they were perfect

  • @michelle092293 She couldn't put up with the other women, but he had said to her "they're prostitutes". Lucy may have been a little rigid i don't know, I always thought Desi was a nice guy, but I wasn't married to him amd he may have been a ladies man too. Heard he was a wonderful father.

  • @calalilygirl I agree with you. in the lucy and desi home movie, they said that lucy always put her work first, even before her children. but desi would come home from work and spend a lot of time with them :)

  • luci and desi Jr were both crazy about their parents and seem to be very close to both.

  • 'i miss certain sequences' lol funny

  • Gary seems very tall and has a large frame. He and Lucy were perfect together!

  • desi was better though

  • Even though Desi cheated on Lucy, it still seems like she was happier with Desi. Although Lucy was married to Gary for almost 30 years it didn't seem like they were a match made in heaven.

  • They're certainly not as iconic as Lucy & Desi, but it's easy to see what they saw in each other. They really seem compatible and easygoing and make each other laugh.

  • I So Agree With You
