  • Sweet ! Thanks , buddy !

  • Thank you for this vid went to my local shop an they didn't have me align my peep an they didn't even knot it up so this helped me fix that

  • Thank You!!! Will haunt your on line store soon (:

    nalogirl

  • You have some great videos Kenny... thanks for taking the time to make them for all of us novices out there!!!

  • well.... Used a butter Knife... Need a new string now

  • I just bought my first bow (not in archery shop) and it came with a sight (with the pins). Do i need a peep sight in order to shoot accurate or is there a way to shoot without it??? also can i use braided nylon not specifically for D-loops (160 lbs) or do i need a specific type of material ??

    thanks

  • hey is it necessary to tie in the peep sight? or can you just leave it as is after you put it on?

  • @2111redman Yes it needs to be tied in or it might fly out on the shot or slide up and down which will make you alter your anchor.

  • You're videos are very helpful and fun to watch. My son and I installed a peep on his new bow using your instruction. Thanks for the help!

  • Can I use one of the internal strings from a piece of paracord to tie the peep in?

  • what can you use besides a string splitter

    ???

  • Super nice guy....... thanks for all the tips they really help a lot!!!!!

  • I guess the guy that did my peep sight did it all wrong cus pulled back let the arrow fly n the peep came flying off hitting me in the left eye good thing I blinked only gave me a cut n didn't take my eye out

    Safe shooting guys

  • can anyone tell me the best way to remove the old ties holding on the peep. cause the ones i have on now arent tight and im constantly sliding my peep back in place.

  • You are the man! Seriously dude...big time help

  • thanks a million ....great help thats as i did'nt have a clue! :o)

  • thanks for the tips i used them to fix te string that was unraveling under the peep

  • Thanks for this video! I repaired my peep sight last night with your help. Got the string splitter, and it took only a few minutes to install the new sight. I wouldn't have tried to fix it without these tips!

  • your vid was very helpful. What do you do, when it comes to peep ights. which one is the best. And what is the ruber tubing for. I just bought a bow and it dosent have the ruber tubbing. the peep sight on it now, seperates the string in three places. is it better to have the ruber tubbing? thank you

  • DAMNIT! i wanted to use a butter knife!

  • is this your favored style of serving in a peep as opposed to other serving styles?

  • @TheTwesterfield

i ask this because i actually work at Cabela's in both Hunting and Archery, and alot of the guys here use the knot style you use from your "re-serving a bow string" video, to serve in a peep sight. i've never seen this style done in our tech room, and was curious how it would size up to an actually serving style knot for a peep..

  • is that a hoyt?

  • can you use a pin sight without the peep?

  • Kenny, thanks for the info, I try and catch all your videos as you have a good way of transferring your knowledge in a manner that is intuitive and easily grasped by your audience. Thanks again.

  • hey great video man.

  • Great tutorial. Big help. Thanks!!!

  • redneck. Usefull, smart redneck

  • I have an oneida eagle and right above my peep serving there is a little brass clip. Any way to get it off?

  • Awesome teaching

  • You remind my of my uncle! His names Wild Bill.

  • Thanks for the tips! I have a used bow. The original owner must have been taller (?) than I, because the sight is way above my eye at full draw. I guess I am going to have to remove/re-align it. BTW, it is the exact same kind of sight in this video. In any event, how do I cut/remove the tie-in string without destroying the bow string?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks so much, very easy to follow instructions.

  • Thank you so much, very easy to follow, will be watch more as my daughter and I are new to Archery.

  • That video really helped when my peep fell out. Awesome tips

  • your videos really helped when i was setting up my hoyt rambo

  • thanks , that helped me alot !

  • this movie just saved my a** on fixing the sight.

  • What is the latex tubing for?

  • @dazed2040 I think it's supposed to keep the rear sight facing towards the front sight after the string has been pulled back.

  • Can you put any sort of sight on a normal recurve bow? Or does it have to be a compound bow? Please reply.

P.S. Nice video- thumbs up for you.

  • Great video, thanks

  • very nice video man, Im new to bow hunting and your videos have helped a lot. thanks alot (no sarcasm intended)

  • Thanks! I am just getting into archery and this video was AWESOME! Thanks!

  • thanks for the great video man, this will help me out a ton.

  • Where did you get the string that you tied it in at. . . . . thanks

  • @xXBUTRKUPXx From my online store at bow tuning tips . com search for B-50 wax bow string material

  • @grttaxi thank you very much. will purchase soon

  • im sorry for asking this if someone else already did or if its obvious but what is the proper way for using the peep sight? do you just look through it and line it up with your target and fire or do you have to do something else?

  • @donewithlove1 i have a video on this go to my channel its there

  • how do i get a tri-slot peep in the string?

  • Great Video - your very helpful - there isn't any good bow shops around here and I want to learn how to work on my bow myself. Great video!

  • I just recently changed my draw length from my father's draw (28.5") to my correct draw (25"). Before, the peep would align correctly every time, but now the peep shifts in a circular fashion as I shoot the bow (vertically it's stable, but its horizontal). I am using a metal peep (just a normal circle) that sits at a 75 degree angle. Is there any way to stop this? I do not have the rubber thing attached to the bow peep (mine does not have a nipple).

    Thanks

  • @masentka honestly what i would do is get a new peep sight. the one in this video is the same one i have and it costs 3 buck at walmart

  • thank you, you've help me out a lot

  • Thanks. Just bought my first bow and did not know how to do this. Great help!

  • Cool looking bow, what kind is it?

  • Comment removed

  • Super cool looking bow, what kind is it?

  • Great tips man I'm pretty sure with out your vids I'd be clueless about archery!

  • awesome vid

  • ok sorry if i asked the same question six times i was under the influence of cider at the time.

  • @1000000volts LOL mmm...cider have a good one buddy

  • hi good stuff ive just restrung my compound bow,and broke my press in the proccess, what i need to know is where should the strings cross over is at the top of bow or the bottom, its too late now ive set the crossover at the bottom is it important please help cheers

  • @1000000volts It doesnt matter as long as it works. I am only responding to this message not the other 6 you left. LOL

  • That helps... Thanx

  • nice vid thanks dude!!!!

  • this is a good tip,i tried it, and it worked fine,no slip.

  • The "half-hitch serving" is a very specific type of serving used in sailing applications before bow hunters started using it. The type of knot being used in this video to secure this peep sight is not a half-hitch serving but rather a series of overhand knots. I'm sure that the method being described is effective. However, we should not confuse our terms. The half-hitch serving produces a spiraling effect which is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional for serving in peep sights.

  • do you have to use a peep sight

  • I have a bear lights out with a 31" draw my peep sight is being obstructed when Im at full draw by the part of the peep that connects to the tubing its at such an angle when at full draw that when I look through the part of the peep that connects to the tubeing is entering the sight picture any tips what can I do to get rid of that.

  • @xdevox They make peeps for short axel bows. The angle is to great for the one you have your local shop should have one that will work.

  • I have an oneida bow and it dose not have a center string so I guess I cant use a peep with a rubber tube. how do I set up a non tube peep so it always lines up with my eye.

  • @588158 If you go to my channel there are videos to show you how to pick a peep sight and one to show how to install a tubeless one. Good Luck!

  • I have on an oneida bow and have no string to attach rubber tubing too, what kind of peep should I use?

  • is there a certain way to adjust a bow sight or do you just move it until it hits the target just about right because guns have certain tools to adjust the scope im not sure

  • @EJHman I call it follow the arrow, that means move the sight to where the arrow hits to get it on target.

  • Very helpful video for a 45 year old beginner like me!

  • Great job! Thanks

  • what size did you use?

  • @strugly22 mine is the 5/16"

  • @grttaxi Thanks

  • @grttaxi what type of peep sight would you recommend for a beginner archer a peep sight with the rubber to align the peep or one without

  • @strugly22 you might try the tube kind it turns every time and is pretty much fail safe.

  • damn good video love the super knot u tied keep it up man

  • What is the purpose of the tubing attached to a peep sight

  • Thanks mate.

Thosevideos are really helpfull downhere in Mexico where we dont have a close archery store. You know in the midle of nowhere you are by your own.

    Kindly regards.

  • Im new to bow hunting and decided to hit up youtube for some help. To my surprise, there arent that many bow tips as you'd think on here. Thankfully, it seems like every question I have you have video for it with great detail. Love your videos man, thanks and keep um comin!

  • great video very very helpful thank you

  • gave it a good rating :]

  • so my peep sight that got tied in just like this came undone. is it okay to shoot with it not tied in??

  • thanks for another great video! on my bow my peep doesn't have the elastic tubing. any suggestions on how i can adjust the peep so it's in the right position at full draw. i've heard some people say something about "twisting the string" - but i have no idea what they mean by this or how to do it. any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you!

  • Ok so I was lookin at my peep, n uh.. I can't seem to find it.

  • Excellent tip! I didn't have any B50, but i waxed some .020 braided serving and it seems to have worked just fine. Thanks!

  • awesome

  • Thanks man this was great!

  • great vid mate, helped alot, but i have 1 question, the alastic you have conected to your peep, do u need to have one of them on your string/peep too have it correctly situated and do u need it too have your sight right on ur target? hope that makes sence?

  • Hi kenny i have a question for you i bought a brand new bear showdown rts bow and i seen your tips about the peep site and i went and checked mine and its way off so i moved it and i had to move my sites so much it was un real i cant move my site anymore and im stile shooting high what do i do now thanks in advance john

  • Excellent, answers all my peep questions in one go. Thanks

  • When you look thru the peep should you be able to see the ring of the front sights inside the peep or does it just barely cover the ring?

  • @ynotpyro you should be able to see the ring in the peep "ring in a ring"

  • This is one of the best tutorials of any kind on Youtube. Thanks... and keep up the good work. You helped me a lot...

  • Nice

  • how do i undo the half hitches that are already tied on by the peep sight to adjust my peep

Thanks for great vids and all help

  • Thanks for sharing your technical knowledge. My questions are how do you tie a G5 peep sight?

Also what size of serving string should I purchase. Finally how do use a bow square?

    thanks

  • These are by far the best how to and tip vids on this entire site for bows. Thanks for all of the good info!

  • hello guys, I understood all directions perfectly, but I have a single cam Martin saber and a sillicon tube peep sight, the question is, Do I need to tie the rubber tubing in the middle string the same as shown here??

    Thanks

  • You don't have to if you have the tube connector that sticks on the upper limb. If you don't have it you will have to tie it to your cable, I use the one that splits to the axel.

  • really good clear video

one of the best to watch keep up the good work mate

  • very nice

  • Have you heard of/have an opinion of the whisper peep sight that you don't need to tie in?

  • hey, i need some help, i want to put on a peep sight on my bow, but i need to split the string, is there anything i can use as a string splitter? cuz i dont have one

  • I reccomend the right tool for the job, use only a string splitter or you might damage your string.

  • Is there a specific spot on the non moving string that you are to tie the tube on? How do you put the rubber tube on so that its on properly? How do you tie it on?

    Thanks!

  • Great info, keep up the good work.

  • Thanks I needed to know how cause my peep sight flew off.

  • totally awesome dude...thanks a lot..

  • hey i have a question when alighing the peep when u close and open ur eyes are u supposed to look threw it with ur right eyes or both

  • you should be looking through it with your eye the one that is domanant, right handed right eye left is left

  • alright thanks man

  • Don't forget that a portion of the population is what they call cross-dominant (i.e. right-handed and left-eye dominant.) I've heard as high as 30%, but I'm not sure of the exact numbers. Shoot whatever your dominant eye is, you'll be most accurate that way.

  • good stuff thanks!

  • hey, im new to achery and have one question for you, wats the advantige of having a pice of tubeing on your sight?

  • it turns the peep so you you can see through it it works as an aligner
