wow, great job. u no some ppl dont realise wat an oppurtunnity it is 2 go there. unfortunately, i live in ohio and we have no way 2 pay 2 go there, but i will forever dread not having a chance to venture out 2 philmont
This was an allstate piece for Iowa last year... and there was a festival/concert that all participants were invited to inorder to help us get ready for it... and at it we were able to preform all of our pieces in a concert. For this peace we turned the lights off in the Great Hall of a concert hall at the University of Northern Iowa. Oh God. It was amazing.
Wonderful pictures! Takes me back to when I was a camper and staff member. You sure know how to take the right shots. Great job. I sure miss Philmont! I wanna go back to Philmont!

If anyone wants a life altering experience, try surviving in the Philmont back country for two weeks on nothing but tropical GORP, crackers - cheese, dehydrated anything, and mountain water while intermittently hiking over 100 miles with 50-60 pound backpacks... The experience is enough to a scout into a young man, but it's the scenery of the Philmont scout ranch that will change them into a man.
As for both the song Sleep and Philmont Scout Ranch (new mexico), I'm a huge fan...
The Philmont Scout Ranch has some of the most beautiful landscapes that I have ever seen, and this video expertly gives it justice. Whoever took these photos truly knew what they were doing, because every single one of them captures the ranch's splendor.
This choral piece is incredible. Definitely one of my favorites, along with Cloudburst, When David Heard, Waternight, and With a Lily in Your Hand. The Arizona (2007) allstate is performing sleep later this year, and I cannot wait to perform it.
However, everyone here has been commenting on how beautiful Sleep is, when the main purpose of this video is being completely overlooked.

it's Sleep by Eric Whitacre. my high school choir of the best men and women singers (including me)are singin this for our spring concert

Yeah. My choir in Oskaloosa got the piece and we sang it for our Winter concert. It was.. Awesome.

I was most def. Region Choir Alto II 7th chair last year in Texas...we sang it at our Region Concert too...we all cried after it

We're totally doing this piece in my highschool chamber choir, and it nearly moves us to tears. We're doing it pretty good too. I love it!
