I'm from Singapore. Even the Chinese New Year CD in Singapore. Every year the song is almost of same just that it's sang by different actor/actress.

They Manchus had forced us to changed our clothing from Hanfu漢服 to Qipao旗裝

u may search online or wikipedia “剃髮易服” and “揚州十日”

@hanchinese I see. but it is still a clothing. lol. The cloth are made in Malaysia. Qipao are Cantonese dress or southern Chinese dress . most Hong Kong and Taiwanese people dress like that. how can u ask them to change to Hanfu. Remember Theresa Teng? The girl from Taiwan that is famous in this 19th century song. she dress in Qi Pao too.

@hanchinese i've read the history. The Qipao was created in 16th century by Manchu people in Qing Dynasty . and force all Han Chinese to wear it or else they'll be killed or face harsh punishment. But now its 2011, it doesn't matter anymore. what past is past.
