Hey Phil, remember me Freddie? I played John. Whats up dude. Its funny how 20 years later we are still looking back on this. Hit me up with an email sometime go_kings_go25@yahoo.com
First of all thank you Scott for posting this videoo here on youtube. After searching and searching for hours. I played John Darling in 1991 and 1992. My little girls love watching this video over and over, as well as I. Are you Scott the Skunk?
I stumbled across this video and thought I would clear a few things up, even though the discussion on this video is two years old. I'm the Michael Banks in this video and not only still work for Disney, but also keep in touch with a lot of the kids from these parade years (90-94). The mowgli is a boy. He actually still works for Disney too. Sadly, Susan did pass away a little over 5 years ago from a brain aneurysm. Our other lead, Dave was also a teacher at Ball Jr. High. Tall red headed guy.

Hi Small, this was the first year that the 3 fairies were face characters. I would know because that's me in Merryweather. It's hard to tell because we go by so quickly, but I know what the costumes look like with and without the masks, so those are definitely face characters and I recognize myself and the others who performed with me. I was fortunate to be cast in the role until the "Very Merry Christmas Parade" ended in 1994/5 and was replaced with "A Christmas Fantasy" parade in late 1995.
I miss that parade so much! I have never been able to like the new Christmas parade after this one. Thanks for the video posting, I saw many old friends and new the little girl who played Mowgli. I also saw my old Jr. High band teacher playing snare drum in the opening scene, and my Jr. High Vice Principal as the lead for the children's unit for the lost boys unit. I have this parade on tape, I just have to get it transfered to DVD soon!

Actually, Disneyland had their own Crystal Castle float which was destroyed a couple of years ago. When both Disneyland and Disney World ran the same Christmas parades, the only difference between the 2 floats was that one said Disneyland and the other Walt Disney World. I was actually Merryweather Fairy in this parade and in the years until it ended and was replaced with "A Christmas Fantasy." I can't tell if it's me in the video, but it should have been unless I was sick.
This is a wonderful Christmas gift for us Disney fans. I sure miss the days of working at Disneyland during this time of the year, despite the crowds and all. Thanks for the great footage and have a Merry Christmas, Scott83

Thank you for sharing your video of this parade. This is one of my favorites and I think this parade is better than the parade they have now.

Welcome. BTW, are you talking about Susan. If so, she was my vice principal too. Did you go to South JH as well.
scottof83 3 years ago
Yes, it was Susan, but I went to Ball in 90'. I heard she died, but don't know if that is true or not.
weathergirl777 3 years ago
Actually, I have been told that she died from the West Nile virus.

isn't that the same castle float that WDW has or did Disneyland have one as well.
Disneydanny 4 years ago
It is the same one. After we retired the this parade, Disneyland gave that float to Disney World.

It's awesome to hear that your uncle was once a DL parade performer.
And Mowgli was so adorable.

Believe it or not, this Mowgli is a girl.
