are players still allowed to wait under the goal posts and lift players to stop the ball from going over the post when a penalty kick is taken? I havent seen it used since the wallabies done it against South Africa, I think it was around 1999 - 2001. they managed to win by doing this. If this is still allowed why didnt NZ do this?
Dan Carter is a great kicker, but his passing is simply brilliant. I especially liked the pop he did to Jean de Villiers, that was pure class. Shot Dan!
Carter is awesome, but I still dont believe he has replicated his form of 2005/2006. He is so important to NZ and such a huge talent, I want to see more of Carter at his best! This coming from a Bok, he has the potential to become the greatest 10 of all time, I just wish he would play like it more consistently. Hopefully by 2011 we'll see his best form.
The Boks are still not where they were in the WC. Then they were far more clinical and lethal on attack, and were far tighter defensively. They definitely are not even close to the ceiling of their potential. I just wonder if our poor coaching team has it in them to take the Boks further.
I agree, they keep on making out that they have progressed since the world cup but i dont think they are any further on they were far more lethal at the world cup and better defensively, Habana hasnt regained his form from 2007 but is a lot better than he was in 2008 same with Burger. I agree also, the coaching staff are poor its player power winning these games it has little to do with De Villiers
I actually feel that Habana hasn't really dipped in form at all for the Boks. Our wings don't get much ball. Chavangha played two tests and not once did he receive a pass. Then was discarded. Muir and de Villiers dont know jack about back play. Reverting to 10 man rugby accentuated our strengths, but in know way took us forward. We need a backline specialist (ie: Pieter Rossouw) and Os to deal with our scrum. But de Villiers is often to proud to accept help from others.
Thats true you can have the best wings in the world but if they dont get the ball especially in space they cant really do anything, Habana should be scoring in every game . Carter is bloody brilliant. He's got the most test and most career points already and he's barely out of diapers in rugby time!
Steyn is just as reliable although his tactical kicking is not nearly as brilliant as Carter.
PS: This is coming from a Die Hard Bok fan and Bull Supporter.
