  • R.I.P. Lady Mondegreen

  • Ewan McColl sings this as it should be sung. Authentic traditional ballad singing -- and evokes the pathos of the story -- the murder of the bonnie Earl of Moray. We feel the loss as we hear the song. The Child ballad is a treasure and Ewan McColl is a treasure. Lang will we listen as the bonnie Ewan McColl sings of this braw callant.

  • Fantastic- I just love Ewan Mc Coll- he has kept so many of these songs alive- I have loads of old tapes so thanks for you tube- does anybody know if this song refers to Doune Castle or perhaps Forres-long shot?

  • Sounds like an original tune. I love the story and appreciate your notes. They are much better than what I have found. Thanks for posting this.

  • That'll be The Bonnie Earl o' Moray, mate.
