Digital terrestrial television is promising in the way that it can deliver so many more channels (in urban areas with flat land) using less bandwidth, but in another way, it's more like a consumerist hype that promotes a technology and a government mandate that requires the use of a DTV converter box with tuner performance that fails to impress.
LOL fake switch is fake. I'm sure a lot of sensitive equipment would be damaged if power was interrupted suddenly. On a scientific note, electrons actually drift at about 0.1 mm/sec in an electric current, that's 6 cm/min. Very slow electrons indeed :-). However, since all electrons in a wire start and stop drifting at practically the same time, we can still say that electricity moves at the speed of light. /nerd
