  • Production is brilliant, the composition especially the tempo shift is also great.

His singing tone is good but his lyrics, ugggghh.

"We only have one rule, don't stay the same our you'll be a fool"

I really wish he abstracted his words more, none the less a great track...

  • @TimeForBold That's something I struggle with too with a lot of music. Some of the most beautifully produced and composed music is plagued with a lack of creative lyricism. For instance, recently I've loved the hell out of Zero 7's "Somersault" (the chorus is fantastic!) but after viewing its lyrics I can't help but feel slightly embarrassed to listen to it.

  • @connoraveale I totally agree, especially with the example, many of the vocalists Zero 7 have employed do really embarrassing second rate work, their production on the other hand is really well done and when the couple it with a simple hook like on "ghost sYmbol" it really brings out their best...

  • @TimeForBold I'm glad someone understands my complaints! This is the first time I've talked to anyone who understands music as I do (not trying to be pretentious, just saying everybody listens differently). How do you feel about Yeah Ghost? I want to try it out but it seems radically different from Simple Things and When it Falls (my only two Z7 albums).

  • @connoraveale I get what you mean man, with Zero 7 I'm the opposite with what I've listened to, Yeah Ghost being the only one I've listened to and huge depth...

Like I said ghost sYmbol I like, "pop art blue" has some pretty corny folk vocals but I still kinda like it but tracks like "medicine man" are whilst not outright unenjoyable, are kinda brought down by corny cliche lyrical work...

  • @TimeForBold I'll keep your considerations in mind as I listen to Yeah Ghost for the first time. Thank you, TimeForBold! I appreciate your conversation.

  • two years and just 152 000 listens? I do not wanna live on this planet anymore:)

  • past the first 48 seconds , this song scares me shitless

  • Wonderful work with rhythmic changes and a very angular, interesting melody. Incrdible editing too. Thumbs up!

  • No word, just total prefection...

  • Currently featured in the background of an Adult Swim bumper - the one with the owls in the paddy wagon...

  • @andrewhime Adult Swim always picks awesome music.

  • that ending freaked me out pretty badly!

  • The song is great but the video is poor.

  • can't get through this for years...it is a bad dust ;)

  • This shit kicks ass!!!

  • this song is about conciousness evolution amongst us aliens here on earth who forgot what we are

  • Such a weird melody. Hahahaha. I like

  • As uncomfortable as it is pretty. Such is Warp records.

  • ein verdammtes Meisterwerk! I could listen to it every day an ask myself: how did he made it?

  • I've been following Tim's work since Pro Agonist and this song really captures his growth . and in response... "We don''t know who we are but we will always be here for you...we'll swim in the sea of change, rearrange."

  • dobry beat

  • OMG this is truly the progressive side of techno music!

  • the sound of the song is so unnatural, it's almost physically uncomfortable but i can't stop listening

  • I'll give a nickel to someone who can tell me what meter this song is in.

  • @finalaxiom0 always 4/4, it's the pulse that keeps changing (dotted quarter = quarter)

  • @mynameisniu wrong :)

  • @cyberslick18 so explain me please

  • @mynameisniu I'm not going to sit here and type out music theory basics. Listen to it slowly and carefully.

  • @cyberslick18 ahahaha nice answer. I love people commenting other users on the Internet but avoids direct answers. You do well not to explain anything, because I'm sure you didn't understand anything of this song

  • So, Tim thinks there were other trees in the garden?

    I am down with that.

  • I listen to this daily.

  • warp records has legit artists.

  • I love this guys voice and the way he flows with the track, every song Ive heard I dig.

  • epic track

  • what just happened to my ears? how could i have lived before not knowing this fantastic tune?

  • you've let me down tim exile. where are the amen breaks you sell out

  • SICKSICKSICK S I C K

  • Can anyone suggest any other artists that make warped, evolutionary, tempo and time signature-shifting electronic music like this?

  • @JuIsTheLaw Port Blue, Milosh, Prefuse 73, Pretty Lights, Telefon Tel Aviv, Tycho, Pogo, and if you're curious, I do a bit like this. I have no pro equipment, so my stuff can't even compare, but you can check my stuff out too at soundcloud[dot]com/r3n3gad3/butterflies

Lastly, Porcupine Tree isn't really electronic, but they have a lot of key and time signature shifting songs.

  • Epic music.

  • I enjoy is for sure me not lie! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

  • Love this track, inspiring stuff this is! Transitions are awesome and that transition at 3.05 is mindblowing. Love it to bits.

  • This could be mind blowing for you if you newer heard Animal Collective.

  • The shortest recharging this morning for me!

  • Damned, I've heard lots of things through my 30+ years, but this one must be right up there on the baffling scale. Jeeze. I do like the first 3 minutes quite a lot more than the last two though. Will probably buy the album today.

  • Man this is mind blowing. I dont know what to think..

  • TIm Exile is whack. In a good way

  • I'm still trying to decide if I like this. I'm so confused.

  • FOX!!!!!!!!!!

  • mazing,,,, <3

  • I really want some feedback on some visuals i made in an application i builts with Tim Exile tunes at

    vimeo dot com/15165903

  • Check out some new school visuals with Tim Exile tunes at

    vimeo dot com/15165903

  • This guy pwns electronic music haha! *That terminology was appropriate*

  • I saw this man on the same night as Clark...

  • I don't really know why, but this video brings the Cthulhu Mythology to my mind.

  • props to warp records for letting Tim release such a wacked out single

  • Ahh! the mulltidimensional angler angel fish have evoloved enmasse once again we better catch up or they will become the new civilisation!

  • I am not sure whether this song scares the shit out of me or makes me want to dance... so I'll just call it: tremendum et fascinosum

  • This is a deep tune. He says what he's doing musically in the song while still being artistic and accessible. He could have easily just made this completely cerebral. This song IS evolution.

  • Syncopation Bonanza!

If you can dance to this tune at the first pass you have a super developed hearing sense and rhythm.

It sounds like Depeche Mode morphing halfway into Camel (the band from the 70's)

  • You suck. I just wanted to hear this. Isn't that what you do?

  • IF this track was premeditated by Tim, then you can completely hear is influence from his Philosophical Degree background. There are hints of nonduality, the now, form within formlessness. If this was premeditated ...I will say this track is absolutely pure genius!!!! If not ....then its just a bunch of happy accidents???

What a F%#!ING brilliant production!!!!! Genuis in a madman sense!!!!

  • wielki nieznany muzyk, Tim!

  • The greatest release in years

  • I wish i could favorite this 1000 times so it'd show up in my favorites over and over

  • @Partyywizard I'm quite sure it can :) Simply Add to queue- repeat queue!

  • @Partyywizard upload it 1000 times, then favourite it 1000 times.

  • @Partyywizard actually you can, just try

  • This blew my mind... I'm speechless

  • I can't take it... My mind is melting. It's too good....

  • haha and i thought i am a musican. d[^_^]b

  • Niesamowity utwór, a ile z niego można czerpać inspiracji. Brak słów by to opisać! Fucking Amazing :)

  • WE ALL CAARREEE

I love this song, There is so much work in it

  • amazing graphics work in the video! I adore how he managed these tempo changes in the beat, sometimes it sounds like pure genius, sometimes like he's completely freaked out

  • GOD BLESS WARP RECORDS :D

  • This is one of my favorite songs. :]

  • me too

  • This song will change my way in thinking when it comes to drumming forever. Just heard this song today. Freakin' brilliant!!!!

  • Fish look really nice but it doesn't fit the song at all,its just too sedate. Also they should have done some motion tracking to make the fish feel part of the footage better because the camera shake ruins it.

  • beautiful, those space coy fish things are so cool

  • astonishing!

  • 4:47 - is that the tunnel from the Dover ferry?

  • 4:47 - is that the tunnel from Chris Cunningham's music video for Rabbit in your Headlice by Radiohead?

  • Rabbit in your headlights by Unkle featuring Thom Yorke from Radiohead.

  • What did you mean? That it reminded you of the UNKLE track?

  • If youtubes comment layout wasn't so slack, you will see that I am simply correcting the title of the song that a person has listed below. That comment was irrelevant to the song.

  • Love how it gets faster and faster until it just goes insane - first Tim Exile experience, and wherever he is, I want to be there.

  • nice track here :P

  • This is absolutely beautiful

  • Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The video is cool but that's it. The song is absolutely CRAZY!!!!! Can't stop listening to it !!! ...can't stop...

  • Wow amazing video

  • the singer reminds me of cat face, sorta :P

  • he does! haha

  • This song changed my life and my vision of music completely.. I LOVE it so fucking much

  • Video doesn't do this track justice, but I really wouldn't know what would. This track is absolutely fantastic. The album... amazing. Original, beautiful, really well-balanced... and all this just a facet of Exile. His live work being equally brilliant, but so different.

  • i am so exited to see this artist on Chile soon!!! he is the future and i'm someone that is looking for to reach those goals on music. TOTALLY FREEDOM about electronic style.

  • this is mad but the lyric is something

  • At first I was like "ok, these are some interesting ideas"... and then it went all drum 'n' bass! YAY!

  • After seeing this video, I had to buy "Listening Tree" album, which I spent an entire weekend listening .. tens of times. Every time I hear the album, it sounds totally different. I just can't wrap my head around it.

  • love the track, but what an awful video.

  • Fu*%# awesome... Was für'n Sound

  • Saw him @ Dour festival playing this song, amazing!!!

  • Tim Exile is one of the best electronig artist of this century!

  • This guy is amazing.............

  • That drop is SUPREME. Best I've heard in years - totally badass!

  • Can anyone guide me to his set at Bloc Weekender '08 (I think)

He was sporting a strap-on controller, wearing pants on the outside and spent a good amount of time destroying some bloke he invited to try and use his crazy machines.

He also said played a track in which he exclaimed "Acid Titties" frequently throughout.

It is possibly the best thing I have ever seen, next to Jade Goody's televised funeral.

  • OMG...i think i just levitated off the ground during this song

  • stoned music, omg!

  • the most original thing i've heard in eons.

  • this is one of the most original tracks I've heard in a long time
