Hi there! I noticed the clinical instructor commented that some students are counting 1,2,3 etc. they are actually counting the interval of every drop. Like if the indication is 30 gtts per minute. You will have 2 seconda every drop right? thats what the students are counting. Than you for posting this. Its a great help for students.

Does the main line IV run at the same time as the secondary line? Can the secondary line run dry without concern for the patient?
