  • please re-film with a GoPro or a better phone! i swear i'll leave a more positive comment!

  • GAWD !!! Everything feels like it floating at that speed huh ? I took my 05 SV up to 176mph on the speedo once , took a couple of runs . I had to put my butt kinda up n the back seat to get the right airflow . It was a rush ! It all came back when I saw your vid . Thanks, cool vid !

  • Actually your just lucky. Video taping yourself at 170, 1 handed isn't bright . Yes I like going fast but I think I'd mount my cam someplace so that I'm not being detracted at that speed.

  • your not very bright are you.

  • @1coopgt I'd say I'm above the curve. I guess I could wait around and die naturally, but then again, I could die from a drunk driver tomorrow. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. The only reason people buy a crotch rocket is to test the bike and themselves. We all take chances, as does you. If that is your bike in the video on your page. But thanks for viewing.

  • @nasanick79 you right , I dont mind to die on the bike doing something i love to do. I had sv1000s only for one year so the fastest i went was 240km/h . I know it can go much faster , but I just wasnt ready for it yet :)

  • @hateutubepolicy You sure about that, When you said { I dont mind to die on the bike doing something i love to do } But what if you don't die ? and then what if you do ? Pain both ways for someone....... Surely someone would care if you die, and it would cause them pain. Also It would be sad to see your bike all torn up. Ride safe, yl

  • @nasanick79

Familiar with things like statistics or probabilities?

Not hating the video - just don't find the logic very strong.

  • Is this in kmh or mph ??????????????

  • i only need two hands when i am going under 100 as well...

  • thats crazy bro, yous a crazy mofo. i got a sv650 naked and had it up to 143. just a scorpion slip on and vortex sprockets. i hope u had a jacket and helmet on. be safe

  • i am imagining doing this myself...but I just don't have that kind of ability to cancel out my fear...wow. 97 mph on my sv650 on a backroad is insane....

  • nice! i tried doing the same thing on my sv but the video would get too shaky and i would chicken out holding the bars w one hand at around 100mph. i've done 155 indicated on my k5 sv1ks but it was on a major highway: ran out of road and didn't really feel like crashing into the back of a semi! nice aiming dude!

  • Thanks! It definitely wasn't the smartest thing I've done, but then again, most of us know that if we weren't a little dumb with our decisions, we wouldn't buy bikes that reach these speeds and more! Safe riding!

  • On my SV1000s Ive had 187, K5 limited ed. GSXR body + engine tune as standard.

    Nice vid tho =)

  • got my 2004 sv1000s up to 265km/h ran out of road

  • thats bonkers. i've got an sv650 and managed 130 indicated meaning i was probably doing 120 ish. and that was a 3 lane motorway with flat tarma . a decent sized bump or pot hole in the road and god knows what would of happened. big balls to do that though.

  • Scary shit dude. Fastest I've gone is 150 on an empty stretch of a 5 lane freeway. I can't imagine what would happen if a car pulled out in front of you.

  • And don't forget he is holding the handle bars with only one hand.

  • Hey leute alle sv videos sind tierisch langweilig....ganz im ernst, sieht wie nach 6ter klasse nachsitzen aus....tzzzzzz,greetz 1# hotzenplotz

  • Damn thats a long, straight, back-ass no traffic road. lucky.

  • Hello, I'm from Wales in the UK and own a K3 naked. I have a roadtest that shows the actual speed per 1,000 RPM in top gear as being 14.85 mph as opposed to the indicated speed of 16 mph so our bikes should be pulling just over 160 at the red line, theoretically anyway. Your model has lighter crank flywheels, 2mm larger throttle bodies and a headlamp that comes on after the engine's fired up. Earlier models have upgradable fork internals but yours is the better bike all round.

    Best regards.

  • I wonder if this is much faster than the k3 model? Dont know whether to spend a bit more money on the k5 up, as they revised the engine in 2005

  • Sorry about no responding sooner. From what I have read, I would say no. In fact almost all of the testing that is official out there is done on the K3 model. If you want a newer one that is fresh then yes, but as far as getting more of performance, I don't think you'll get that much. But I could be wrong.

  • so if way 140 how much faster will it be?? sv 1000s or a inline 4cyl 600cc bike?? let me kno i love twins, but i hear sv is a better street bike beesides gsx-r let me kno

  • it depends on what you are like as a rider, if you want to act like a little racer boy but a gixxer. If you like the sensatoiin of your limbs ripping out of their socket buy an sv1000s (lots of torque)

  • Hey this spped was in miles?

  • it was MPH. one of these days I plan on shooting a better quality video with a real camera. hopefully before I blow up the engine.

  • my cousin just got one as his first bike and he loves it

thinking if getting one myself but in your opinion, is it to much bike and power to handle as a first bike? i've had experience with a 125 before but not for long

    thanks.

  • My first bike was a Katana 600. As a first bike with no other experience, it was "fast." It did 60 in 5 seconds or so. Not bad for just riding purposes. This one will hit 100 in 8 or 9 seconds no problem. Lots of fun. The power is there, but if you decide to use it. It's very stable and safe otherwise. Happy riding!

  • I've had mine for a year but haven't gotten the balls to go quite that fast yet... 150+ pretty frequently, but not 170.

  • so you SV1000 is all stock and it did 177 damn but thanks for the video ive been thinkin about gettin a 1000 my SV650 just isnt fast enughf oh and what gen is yours

  • It's worth it. Cheap insurance too for a bike that really is comparable to a GSX-R600 and 750. As far as acceleration and torgue it's quite fun. Almost 70 (on the speedo) in first gear and 100 in under 8 seconds. I know it's true with nearly any bike, but a Pontiac GTO 6.0 decided to act all bad this past weekend and I had to show him what 9 grand can do to his 30+. Hope you get one! I hate they stopped making the 1000. Mine is a 2006.

  • I just got a 2003 SV1000. Never rode one before yesterday. It is a fun bike.

  • this was miles or....?!

    :O

  • I can honestly say it was MPH. The fastest I've had it was 177 on the speedometer.

  • ...what kind of inprovements you have on it?!

  • Everything on the bike is stock except a seat cowl and a tank cover and some LED lights under the tail and the fairing around the headlights.
