what was in the bag was probally a thermal imaging system - used to pick up heat signals, in walls and stuff!

i could not live in a dorm with that alarm. i would die. my dorm has simplex 4903s code-3. i hate loud noises so living in that place would drive me to sleep outside. but still, i do have an alarm write across from my door, yet somehow managed 2 sleep thru the second out of three times it went off this past tuesday. 3:45-7:45am in the cold and rain.

Wow, that is definitely annoying! Glad you wern't at a week-long teacher workshop and couldn't get any sleep due to the repeated alarms at the dorms.
